So when an individual or small business loses its property from a terrorist attack they’ll have no means of restoring their loss. Insurance premiums would be too high to affordably purchase and no assistance from the government after an attack. TRIA keeps this exposure primarily in the private sector. It is one of the few federal programs that actually works!
Brandon, that assumes a big if, that a major terror attack will occur. I, and many others, believe it to be unlikely.
It only works because we haven’t had a terrorist attack.
the private insurance marketplace would adapt to make it work. get the govt out of any phone insurance programs.
