Do you mean like the single payer VA system? That hasn’t worked out so well for vets in this country or have you been on vacation for the past 2 years?
The vets I know (which are many) are very happy with their VA treatment. It’s the same as any other system. There are good people (good hospitals) and bad people (bad hospitals.) It’s not the system that’s broken. It just needs to be managed better. That’s very do-able.
KY, 26 hospitals that we know about currently with major problems which is hardly a small problem. Why do you think there is a significant movement to give vets vouchers so they can go to a private hospital for needed treatment/operations? The VA is not underfunded and they are just like the other bureaucracies in the government, terribly inefficient and wasteful.

Agent, I am not disputing that the issue is serious. I am saying that it’s not pervasive. It’s also not happening in the majority of VA clinics and hospitals. In fact, I would say that the 1.5% bad hospital rate for VA is actually better than the rate for private (non government run) hospitals. I am serious. We hear about the VA because that’s government run and makes big noise all over the country. This problem is not just at VA locations. It is in all healthcare and outside the VA, the rate is much more than 1.5%.

There will always be some of those who work in healthcare. You would think the opposite, but no such luck. Plus, there are idiots everywhere. Yes, the law was originally designed to help stop trafficking. The law however, was written to protect “unaccompanied” children. Because children escaping a trafficker or a slave organization would be unaccompanied. The logic is that if the parents are not there, the child must be in some kind of danger.

Agent,
Yes, the VA scandal has happened. The incident happened in one facility, and those individuals have been removed from employment. The head of the VA resigned over this.
The quality of health care is on average much better than the average American receives in a normal hospital. Read the article Agent, and you can also check out further articles at your local library.
This wouldn’t be a good idea. You would burn all the books! http://www.marketwatch.com/story/its-hard-to-top-veterans-health-care-2010-06-02
One facility? Are you that out of touch? It wasn’t 1 facility. It happened at hospital after hospital, all over the country. Employees from 19 states have complained about retaliation to the office of special council, for speaking up about problems and you think it was 1 hospital? That’s just the ones that are complaining about being retaliated against, this isn’t even the number of states and multiple facilities in each state that have had problems reported.
In all fairness, TxLady, the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have caused a tremendous increase in utilization of VA services that they were not staffed, nor prepared, for.
Being an Army brat myself I know the importance of providing services to our vets, but we have to be realistic at the same time.

I think the final count was 40 hospitals, although according to Agent it was only 26. Either way, out of the multitudes of clinics and hospitals, this issue or dangerous situation if you prefer, is still better than hospitals outside the government umbrella. I seem to think JHACO set the rate at 5%, but it may have been less. I can’t remember exactly. The VA system is no worse than the outside system.

Now, they just bring them over and tell them to just surrender and they will get all the benefits and can stay here.

The ACA has actually provided health insurance to over 20 million americans and has gone a long way towards solving the provider side of the problem. Now, had we implemented single payer, we might have been able to address the cost side of the equation as well, since we could use the bargaining power of the federal government to limit costs.
1.5% is a made-up number, designed to minimize the seriousness of the problem. If private hospitals were as bad as you left wing extremists say, there’d be a huge outcry, but I’m not seeing that, and I know many people both in healthcare and who have been treated in hospitals.
James – the 1.5% came from Agent, a rabid Republican. He said 26 hospitals had been identifed as problem hospitals out of over 1,700 hospitals. You do the math.

Single payer is a simplistic solution that would be a disaster. Socialize anything and you assure diminishing quality and increased scarcity over time. Look at our federal government and you will find bloated inefficient operations.
We need to reform the system to gain control over the spiraling costs and provide insurance to more people. To do this we need to understand that Health Care and Health Insurance are not one in the same. The former is the service provided by health care professionals and the later is the means to limit ones exposure to catastrophic financial loss from heavy healthcare needs.
Competition in both areas are critical to controlling costs as is access to information on quality, experience, costs and outcomes for a given provider. An informed consumer can decide whether to have an MRI at the hospital or at a free standing imaging center and save up to 50%. To make an informed value decision, the consumer needs to know what the quality is of each, what their experience is and how much each will cost. The same would apply for having minor surgery in the hospital or at a free standing surgical center as it would for having a minor injury checked out in an emergency room or at an urgent care facility. The two impediments to making these value decisions are lack of adequate information and lack of incentive to do so.
The lack of information could be solved by building a database that combined an Angie’s list type of rating and review system along with a database of pricing. The lack of incentive is needs to be addressed by decoupling Health Insurance and Health Care. Observe the behaviors of people who have High Deductible Health Plans and HSA’s. They are better consumers and with better information, they will become even better.
This does not address the costs of Urgent Care or End of Life Care. These are where big dollars are racked up. There are numerous ideas on how to address these costs, but that is a debate for a more in depth forum.
As for access to health care, everyone has it now. The quality of health care they have access to is dependent on how they will be paying for the services. There are numerous ways to increase access to health insurance through incentives, regulations, etc.
Addressing the health care / health insurance issues should be done in a much more thoughtful manner than a rallying cry of “Single Payer”.
I am one of those with a high deductible/HSA account and have to have a procedure done soon. I plan to do just what you said, call and find out how much it costs and how I can keep the costs down. My health insurance carrier also has a database that can compare prices for you on certain procedures (colonoscopy, MRI, etc.) I don’t disagree with your analysis, but where is the incentive for the health providers or insurers to do this? There is none.
Libby, you are correct. Currently, there is no incentive for the providers to do this, in fact, most would rather not. As for the insurers, it can be competitive advantage for them if they attract a higher percentage of cost conscious consumers than their competitors, though I don’t think many have made that leap yet. In order to make it work, you would need to either provide an incentive for the providers to share the info or compel them to do so via regulation. You may also need to incent companies to build the databases and host the websites, though I suspect if the info was readily available, there would be a long line of entrepreneurs competing to become the “Angie’s List’ of health care.
I agree Comm’l. The Single Payer system is the worst of all possible worlds since it is Socialized Medicine operated by the most inefficient government in history. How many more million federal workers would it take to administer Single Payer? Would you want to call a bureaucrat in Washington to ask if you could have an operation and be told no? They would tell you to take a pain pill and go to bed.
Old enough? Oh snap! That’s some witty repartee you got going on, Des. LOL! I’ve got t-shirts older than you.

Well, seeing that we have fewer federal employees than we did under the Cheney/Bush Administration, we would obviously have to increase that number, but to a level probably no higher than the previous debacle. You should get a new radio. AM Radio is pretty much a dinosaur, like you. Get off my lawn.
This is a good ruling and will hopefully weaken the nationalization of healthcare. Things should be moving the opposite direction if we hope to fix anything.
Rand “Aqua Buddha” Paul? Ted “Calgary” Cruz? I think not.
I am a Clinton Democrat, and I realize that Obama is not perfect. However, I (and most likely a majority of Americans) would vote for him again versus anyone the Teabaggers would nominate.
After all, Ronald Reagan could NOT get nominated by today’s GOP’s rank and file.
Maybe, just maybe, a Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson Ticket might do the trick. But one is from Chicago, the other is from Texico. Just imagine the possibilities!
Hey Dave, there was a good political cartoon that came out a few days ago on Townhall. Picture a patient sitting on the examining table and a judge sitting in front of him on a stool. The patient loudly says – I thought you said I could keep my subsidies if I liked them.
Perhaps KY. This will probably go to the Supremes again and who knows how they will rule? When you have a law passed with all the defects built in, a government that cannot even build a workable web site, state exchanges imploding all over the country, people lying on their app about income, there are bound to be repercussions.
Upon further wandering of the news reports, I found this:
“For now, the law remains unchanged and the subsidized policies are unaffected until the legal case plays out, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters.
He cited three other cases on the same issue also argued in federal courts, noting two had been dismissed and that Tuesday’s ruling was the first appellate decision against the government’s position.”
So, until this crosses the SCOTUS desk, the subsidy will stay. It will be interesting.
Because for some reason, every issue litigated has to go through each level of court one at a time. I didn’t make the rules, I’m just sharing the knowledge.
KY, the law was not litigated when it was rammed through Congress without even reading it. Perhaps someone should have read it before it was signed into law and then there would not have been numerous challenges ever since. Bad laws have bad consequences. You should realize that by now.

Time to turn our attention to finding some real market solutions, including attention to provider costs, a whole area left vacant by the ACA
This law was sold to the American public on a pack of lies. It is clearly unconstitutional in so many ways. Finally people are starting to realize this, especially the judiciary. Scalia was very angry at Roberts, and rightly so. This is good.
I feel bad for the unlucky Americans that signed up in a state that does not operate its own exchange. The intent of the Affordable Care Act was indeed to provide these subsidies.
So yes, it seems true that the letter of the law limits the subsidies to State Run Exchanges, but the spirit of the law was to provide them to everyone who signed up. It’s too bad for those unlucky Americans that are stuck in the middle of this political battle.
Thanks for showing your true colors and naivete. Had the Dumbocrats pushed a single payer option it would have failed miserably. I guess you can’t figure that out. And with the Republicans now controlling the House and soon the Senate, it will be impossible. I now have a better idea of how your twisted mind works.
Dave – I know that and said as much in a posting below. I’m angry at Obama for not pushing single payor. That would have been so much better than the POS we ended up with as a result of him pandering to the right. Those days are over!
So wanting freedom to make my own choices about my body, who I marry, with whom I have sex, and to practice or not practice my religion is a mental disorder? That’s what liberalism means to me. I liked that post too Agent. BTW, make sure you have an inspector check out your insurance shed. There are rumors that the nation of Texico was built with Chinese drywall. I don’t think it would be a good outcome if your fireworks business in the stall next door catches on fire.
FFA, I think we know what the intent was in the language. It was to force all states into establishing their own exchange and to expand Medicaid which will come home to roost on State budgets. Gee, I wonder why 36 States didn’t rush out and hire their IT people to jump right onto the exchange building business. The dufus 14 states that did had no clue what they were getting into, hence many of the state exchanges failed no matter how much money they got to establish them. Oregon never even opened or wrote one policy.
Or trash this obamination and start from scratch with a consensus from both parties instead of having partisan Democrats shoving a piece of garbage down our throats.
Agreed. We need to have more bi-partisanship, but would the current Congress comply? No. Vote out all incumbents in November – regardless of party. They are all responsible for the mess we currently have.
Revise that to voting out all incumbent Progressives and RINO’s and that is a good start. They are responsible for the mess we are in. Not even one vote from Republicans to get this trash passed. Pass it first and then we get to see what is in it. Nancy said she would pole vault over the wall to get it passed. Nancy didn’t have the votes to get it through the House until she bribed, cajoled, threatened the Blue Dogs until they gave in. It cost most of them their seats in the mid terms.
Producer, do you know how many exchanges ended up operating as intended after receiving millions to set them up? I believe several went belly up including the famous Oregon exchange that never wrote one account and imploded with directors resigning in disgrace. Of course Healthcare.gov was the biggest loser since they spent close to a billion for it not to work and are still working on it.
This is the result of passing a law with no debate or vetting of its features. As Nancy Pelosi said: We’ll know what’s in it once we pass it” and that is coming to pass. Clearly Congress was totally in the dark about what they were voting on at the 11th hour and as time wears on more and more problems like this will emerge. The law was written by hordes of bureaucrats who loaded it with all their idealistic fantasies and because no one actually vetted what went into it – they were essentially given free reign. It is an example of what happens when Congress abrogates its duties to bureaucrats. Maybe we should get back to rational governance, as our founders intended – where issues as important and pervasive as this are debated to eliminate problematic or impractical features.
I read last week where 41 changes and / or delays have been implemented since the passing of this law. It is most likely here to stay. I think it is just as likely, more changes to come. Financially, it can’t survive in the current form, without government subsidies. Regardless of your opinion, I think we can all agree it has certainly been and continues to be divisive to the entire country.
CEL, as Lou pointed out, it was sold as a pack of lies. The President lied to the American peoples face 39 times on tape. No matter how many times the libs spin it, the law is the worst legislation ever passed and it has torn the country apart. Progressives are responsible for this mess and then they have the guts to say it should have been single payer all along. Big government cannot administer anything. Just look at the mess they have created with every department and agency and they are hardly transparent as we have seen.
“Progressives are responsible for this mess and then they have the guts to say it should have been single payer all along.”
Uh, no. “Progressive” by it’s definition indicates we were all for single payor from the git-go. That’s what I thought I was voting for when I voted for Obama. He didn’t have the guts to tackle Congress on that and compromised on this POS legislation. I’m angry at him for that.
I really did not think it would make it in its current form and would have to be modified from the start. The math just does not work. Too much money going out for subsidies, not enough coming in to pay them. I still don’t fully understand why they had to create a new bureaucracy when they could have just expanded medicare and not had to worry so much about state exchanges.
That would have been too easy and never would have flown with the Republicans. No more “hand outs!” They wanted private industry involved and they got it. What a mess.
Huh, If I recall it was a Democrat controlled congress that passed Obamacare in the middle of the night without any time to read it. Didn’t Plastic Pelosi say “We have to pass the (health care) bill so you can find out what is in it”.
Hey Sargeant. I was hoping you would weigh in on this. The libs are as thick as fleas trying to justify their position and to advocate for Single Payer. Sargeant Major, Obama has deported many illegals … but if you’re talking about the children at the border, they are from Central America, not Mexico … and there is a law signed in 2008 that prevents their deportation.
Well played, GOP, well played. Wonder if those who lose health care insurance in states run by the GOP might remember this at election time. I’m thinking they will. Speaking of death panels…
No Celtica, they will give them all a basket of 5000 calorie Freedom Fries with extra mayo and bacon for voting GOP. For those that can prove they aren’t their uncle’s daughter, there are coloring books sponsored by the NRA featuring Eddie the Eagle.
**Republican patriots. Proudly marching off to save Americans from the threat of….decent healthcare.**The White House said Tuesday the decision will be appealed to the entire D.C. circuit court — what’s known as an en banc review — where Democrats hold a majority that is nearly certain to overturn the GOP judges’ aggressive move. The next step could be the Supreme Court, which already upheld the Affordable Care Act in a separate case two years ago. / The U.S. courts have never been entirely above the political system, but under Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, whose court routinely strikes down longstanding precedent along 5-4, strictly party-line votes, they are becoming little more than another legislative branch — one that holds itself above the branch that was vested with lawmaking powers by the Constitution. / The majority opinion was not without a comedic interlude. “We reach this conclusion, frankly, with reluctance,” Judge Thomas Griffith said of the opportunity to achieve a longtime GOP goal.
What there are limits to how far one can pretend a statute says black when it says white?
I would have thought there were no limits left when Obama was able to personally, legislatively change express language in Obamacare that stated a certain date no fewer than 3 times.
Who knew?
Anyway, I’m sure that the Supreme Court, if not earlier, will fix this by defining “state” as including the federal government.
Worm – Obama did not personally change express language in the Act. The IRS has the authority to delay implementation of certain laws and they exercised that authority with the ACA. Time to educate the righties. Maybe I’ll just beat my head against the wall instead. Less painful.
FFA, 55 MPH in a 40 MPH zone used to mean a ticket. In todays world, it depends on the “spirit of the law” and may be ok. Remember Slick Willy’s famous words – It depends on what the meaning of is is.
Per cnn.com there was a second ruling today on Obamacare. This one, from Richmond, upheld the subsidies. In other words, two rulings that conflict one another. Either way, both of these decisions will be appealed. Until the appeal is complete, the law will remain as is. So really, no news today… stay tuned.
**BREAKING: Two Hours After A Court Strikes Down Obamacare Subsidies, Another Appeals Court Upholds Them**…as the Supreme Court has made clear — and as the Fourth Circuit reiterates in its opinion — a federal law should not be interpreted by reading a single line out of context. Rather, “a reviewing court should not confine itself to examining a particular statutory provision in isolation” as the “meaning—or ambiguity—of certain words or phrases may only become evident when placed in context.” / Under the longstanding Chevron Doctrine, however, it is not the job of judges who are confronted with an ambiguous statute to read their preferred outcome into the law. Rather, the Supreme Court has ordered federal judges to defer to an agency’s reading of a law — in this case, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) — so long as “the agency’s answer is based on a permissible construction of the statute.” “We ‘will not usurp an agency’s interpretive authority by supplanting its construction with our own,” Gregory writes, “so long as the interpretation is not ‘arbitrary, capricious, or manifestly contrary to the statute.’” / As Gregory’s opinion lays out, the Obama Administration’s reading of the law is entirely consistent with the law’s structure and purpose. “Denying tax credits to individuals shopping on federal Exchanges would throw a debilitating wrench into the Act’s internal economic machinery,” the court explains. “It is therefore clear that widely available tax credits are essential to fulfilling the Act’s primary goals and that Congress was aware of their importance when drafting the bill.”
Hey DJ, this law should never have been passed to start with without “any” bipartisan support. The failure of this law to address Healthcare in this country is truly amazing. That is what the country gets for electing ideological leaders who thought they could force feed their Utopian Socialist dream and the people would just accept it after they found out what was in it. Guess what, this law has never been popular and is less so today than when it was passed. Too many people are getting hurt. How many lost their coverage and desperately had to get this at higher premiums for higher deductibles? Did people in their 50’s need Abortion coverage, the pill? Did young people really need their premiums to double or triple to support older people?
This ACA was nothing but the “Heist of the Century” imposed on hard-working middle class people who now have to pay for more than just health care but for other items long considered optional and a personal responsibility.
My auto insurance does not pay for tire rotation or oil changes. Those are routine maintenance items we pay for. The coverage pays only for certain catastrophes substantially beyond the deductible.
Instead ACA has devolved into paying not only for catastrophic illnesses, but nonsense like daily birth control pills and viagra. Give me a break. This bill is an insult to those on the paying side of the equation.
If I could do that, nobody would be able to read any of the drivel you post. There just happen to be others that feel as I do. I know, hard for you to believe. But that’s how we ended up with a black President.
Why you need to make Obama’s race the central issue when nobody even mentioned it? After 5 1/2 years of cronyism and mismanagement while he parties with the likes of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, scandals that occur too often to even keep up with, and an absolutely failed foreign and domestic policy. The fact you think the only reason people voted against Obama is because he’s a “black president” despite almost every prediction by conservatives of his ensuing failure coming to fruition, speaks volumes of how asinine and debased your politics really are. But then again, you’re the prototypical Democrat voter.
It’s not the central issue, but it is an issue. My point was (there’s that lack of reading comprehension again) there are alot of people that think like I do (ie. liberal.) They, like me, voted for Obama and we ended up with a black president. You right-tards are now getting on the same bandwagon with Dr. Carson. Copycats.
And while “ensuing failure coming to fruition” may sound poetic and show off your vast lexicon, no such thing has come to fruition. Your so-called scandals? Laughable. But you keep looking under bushes and in dark corners. It keeps you busy and distracted so we can go about the business of running the country.

Hey Destro, liberals always try to play the race card when they lose the policy argument about what Obama has been doing. Hey, the man got elected twice so I don’t think that holds any water at all. It is all about policy and his desire to take the country far left and make this country an entitlement society. If Biden or Hillary had done the same thing, I would be against them just as vehemently. Progressive Socialist politics is a failed system and is ruining the country, the economy and job creation. That is a fact and is evident every day of the week if one pays attention to the news.

Single payer doesn’t work. Regardless of what anecdotes you hear from both sides of the issue in Europe, universal health care ends up being health care rationing. You simply can’t get care on demand anywhere universal health care is being practiced.
Instead, let the market work. Why not spend the money to double or even triple the number of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals we have in the US. Whether it be by opening or expanding universities and other learning institutions, then increase the numbers of hospitals to facilitate the increase in the numbers of these professionals.
I’m no expert, but when you increase the supply of anything, even a service like doctors, then the price will go down and more people will be able to afford it, insurance or not.
Hey Nuf, I agree. We could have gone further by doing Tort Reform in this law so doctors would not be burdened with outrageous awards. This wasn’t going to happen since the Trial Lawyers are a huge lobby group of the Democrats that passed this travesty.
Right Libby, I’m thinking the same thing. Med schools are at capacity, and there are only so many; that’s by design (AMA) to keep physician fees high. So even if we come up with the money to build more med schools, how many people will go through 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of med school plus another 2 – 3 for residency (more if they’re specializing), if they can’t expect to get fairly wealthy from it? Pushing fees down will discourage people from entering the profession.
At the end of the day VA scandal or not, subsidy or not, single payer or not, This is bad legislation. Has been since some 7th grader put it together. Why:
1.) It was sold on lies and a lot of them- If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, This will be budget neutral- Going to cost at least a couple trillion dollars? Maybe more. The website will cost about 90 million- Ha, what are we up to now several hundred million? It still dos not work. If you like your plan you can keep your plan. This plan will save everyone money- at least 2,500 for the average family. On and on, Lies, lies lies
2.) Prices for next year (2015) according to a recent Washington Post article will go up 20 to 25%. It will get to a point where the people this was supposed to help can’t afford it and those who get it free will have to pay something and opt out.
3.)Subsidies only work for a while. At some point it won’t matter unless the subsidy goes up and the country can’t afford it. Not with almost 20 trillion in debt.
4.) One article I recently read said that the Dems are not talking about enrollees because it is estimated that there are the same number of uninsured as there was when this was rolled out. In other words this screwed up healthcare for everyone and although some got healthcare, others lost it so the numbers are benefit neutral.
It was bad legislation that is pushing the country toward bankruptcy, forcing hospitals to close or merge and will result in poorer healthcare for all. Sad, very sad
Strangely KY? Why is it strange to tell the truth about this fiasco? Do you now admit there was a lot of bad ideas incorporated into a 2,700 page law written by Progressives and passed on a strictly partisan basis in the dead of night without even reading it?
The strange part is agreeing with Sargeant Major. About anything.
I have not advocated for nor have I expressed any liking for the ACA. Therefore you are wasting your blogging time trying to convince me the law is bad.
Well, just be careful and don’t piss him off. You see the results of that. I’m sure if we were face to face he’d probably take a swing at me.

KY, you do show “some” common sense from time to time even if you support Libby and buddies most of the time on their rants. When Sargeant lays the facts out for you, it should give you pause about what Libby has to say, her name calling, insults, over the top rhetoric. I have seen her chide you before when you agreed with a Conservative opinion. I am waiting for the next attack telling Sargeant he has too much shrapnel in his head.

Hi Libby-yes, I do think that republicans would get behind this. If you think that it costs about $250k to educate a nurse and $500k for a doc, thats a lot of money. But we would be educating trained professionals in a growth industry who will in turn employ other trained professionals in their offices and practices and at the same time lower the cost of health care.
So lets just say that the nut is $5BB or even $10BB a year to do this-thats nothing compared to the billions we waste on healthcare now for things like medicare, medicaid, ACA at the Federal level-and being bi partisan, that waste occurs regardless of who is running Congress or the Presidency, so to me this is one initiative that would cross both aisles. And what politician could resist the lure of opening a new medical school or hospital in their home district?
BTW, I’m a vet too. I didn’t have too many instances of needing to access care when I was in the military and none after I left, but my experience was that it was uneven. It could be great, but the sheer burearocracy, ineptness and delays in getting care was at times infuriating and frustrating. There weren’t any controls or incentives to operate efficiently,so the system was just not 100% reliable. I can’t imagine that the Federal Gov’t could handle 300MM people better then they do now for active and retired military and dependants
Nuf – This is an idea I could get behind. We do need more thoughtful and respectful dialogue on this very important issue. Every one will need health care at some point in their life and making it accessible and affordable is what we should be doing as a nation. The pull yourself up by your bootstraps and take care of yourself mentality works in many facets of life, but one shouldn’t be healthcare. In my humble opinion.
Of course, I will get thumbed down for my courteous and reasonable response to you.
But seriously…”Every one will need health care at some point in their life and making it accessible and affordable is what we should be doing as a nation.” So do you care to explain how the abomination that is Obamacare has hiked insurance premiums across the board making affordable health insurance even harder to attain? Can’t wait to hear the cock-eyed liberal logic on this one and how “it’s because of Republicans!” LOL
I don’t think I should have to subsidize any one else’s healthcare. I didn’t screw up in my early twenties and put in the work to make good money and now the people that didn’t, get a free piece of the pie because they’re “underprivileged”. The rich white guys weren’t just given a bunch of money, they were just smarter than everyone and invested in a career when they were supposed to. Why do I pay more than the next guy because they ended up poor and I didn’t? I’m fine with helping out the people that truly need it, but you shouldn’t win the health care lottery because you woke up in your thirties with no job skills.
“you shouldn’t win the health care lottery because you woke up in your thirties with no job skills.”
Are you for real? You must be very, very young or incredibly uninformed. There are many hard-working Americans that do not have health insurance.
Fortunately for you, you ended up working in an industry that routinely offers benefits to their workers. Not all industries do. My ex-husband worked 50 hours a week and had no health insurance. Luckily I could add him to my coverage, but if I also worked in an industry that didn’t provide benefits we would have been hard pressed to be able to afford it on our own.
Not everyone that needs a hand-up is a lazy moocher.
This was just a test to either see if people were reading posts and thumbing up or down based on their bias or If they really have those feelings in mind. I have a feeling that although they have been buggered before, they never had knew there was a word for it.
Agent said- ” How do you see the VA scandal, phony or real?”
I think there is enough blame to pass around. This was a known issue when Obama was campaigning. He even knew of the escalating wait times from a Bush briefing and letter sent to him when he took office in 2008. So Bush knew there was a problem and told Obama about it. That does not get Bush off the hook (It may or may not, depending on when they found out) but the fact that Obama is now “mad as He** is a joke. Fact is:
* The wait lists, timely care etc has gotten far worse since he took office and it does not appear they did anything.
* You can’t tell me this is “new News” to the Secretary, and
* He should at leaset say something and tell, at least the veterans, what he is going to do about it and immediately do it.
In my opinion, this is a government bureaucracy and while they had good intentions it is like every other government run program, Inefficient, cash draining and politically driven when decisions are made. The only VA facility that I am aware of that I know does a great job is Walter Reed Medical Center.
I would much rather they do away with VA hospitals and allow veterans to use their VA card to have access to any hospital they want to go to and get the care they need with the same VA benefits available now. It would be more convenient to a high percentage of veterans, probably better care, no wait times and more cost effective. Probably save a lot of money.
If a veteran needs to access a VA facility around here They have to drive to downtown Detroit (OK facility) or drive to Ann Arbor which is an hour and a half from my house. Ann Arbor is a much better facility, care is better and timely.
Private Major I’m surprised you are able to type today after spending the entire night and into the morning thumbing down every post made by me, txmouthbreatherboogereatertx, Celtica and Stan. You must be one tired little soldier.
Libby you really need to get over yourself. I’ve been following you, booger, celtic, ron and all the other libs on this forum and all you do is call people names, insult and worry about getting thumbed down. Get over yourself.
Get over yourself, there are plenty of name calling and insults coming from the other side, too. This isn’t a one-way street here. The fact that you single me out is very telling on your part.
So GOY, you don’t think it’s funny that the minute mouthbreather, Cassandra, or I post a comment someone thumbs it down into oblivion? There aren’t that many people still reading this blog for it to be organic. And it only happens when Private Major is also posting on the thread. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who’s doing it. But you being a rightie and all, I’m sure you condone censoring along with book burning and abortion clinic murders.
Remember what I said Libby, it just makes it that much easier to find the good stuff. Where else are you going to find half naked pics of Ronnie. Those guys are only hurting themselves.
Shouldn’t you tell everyone that, not just the liberals?
Actually, why tell anyone that? It doesn’t matter. This is not some type of policy debate that will change the fate of the world. If Libby wants to worry about likes and dislikes, that’s her business.
Oh Libby the loon, you crack me up. Your an idiot but at times a funny idiot. Your also a paranoid blogger- Ha ha. I am not like you. I actually work and don’t have time to thumb you down. Looks like there are a few good deals to be had at your local Wal-marts. These swim trucks are a pretty cheap find if you can fit them around your dicky do. Great for wearing to your next tea-party rally or lounging around in your Ford F-350 pick up pool!!
GOOD GRIEF…still the same political BS from Agent (can’t you change your playbook…you could just cut and paste your invectives from 6 months ago and spare your fingers then effort of retyping) and his ilk.
Let’s look at some realities that may be telling as to what and who we are speaking of when we talk affordable and accessible healthcare:
USA Today did a large article on the comparisons in “health” of the citizenry between MS and MN. The upshot was that due to affordable and accessible healthcare, you are a lot healthier and live longer in MN than MS. Regardless of how or why, MN has more accessible and affordable healthcare available to its citizens and this makes profound differences in the life of these citizens.
I therefore have absolutely NO understanding of why the “red” states refused to approve exchanges IF providing affordable and accessible healthcare was the goal as it should have been.
If I lived in TX or MS or any other of the states that refused to set an exchange I would truly wonder why my state is withholding the opportunity for a chance at affordable and accessible healthcare from me…as opposed to MN or NY or IL or any of the states that approved exchanges. Because they did not want to expand Medicaid? Because of “costs?”
In this country because some of us still think that access to healthcare is a priviledge and not aright, we have to conclude that to gain access, you need to be able to pay for it. That translates, in this country, into being able to buy health insurance since we still do not agree that universal healthcare is a “right” for all our citizens.
Why don’t you all look up those articles in USA Today and see how grateful those who either could now get insurance or who were placed on Medicaid were to finally be able to afford…and actually get…care. There are many other sources, so Agent and your ilk, DON’T think that there are not many who have benefitted. Had the reactionary
red” states approved the exchanges, it would be even better for ALL…but they put political gamesmanship (or is it bigotry? racism? class warfare?) above the welfare of those people.
IN fact, if I lived in TX and could not afford health insurance and therefore, good access,..and my state did not approve the exchange preventing me from Medicaid or a subsidy, I would sue as causing unequal protection under the law…why should a Minnesotan be able to get affordable health insurance/care and not a Texan…especially when there are statistics showing how much healthier folks are when they do have access? You red states are robbing years off people’s lives.
You all can place your political arguments and vilif Obama and the Dems all you want, but at the basic depth of the issue is that ALL the people have benefit of good and affordable healthcare. With people like Agent and others who don’t even agree that this access and affordability is a RIGHT of ALL in this the richest country in the world, we Libs need to take our opportunities as we find them…so yeah, this was a one party law. Bitch all you want. Had the Repubs not decided to wage war on a Democratic president the moment he was elected and make him “a one term president” from the git go, we might have had good communication and good compromise…but that went down the drain after election night and the comment by that jackass McConnell.
ACA is not perfect but I sure as hell give the administration props for pursuing it in the face of every challenge you meanspirited, bigoted, racist, sexist…(pick your proper category),..people have thrown up.
The only argument that bears any credence against the ACA is the cost argument. However, look at how hospitals and healthcare providers bill. Look at bit pharma, that, while moving overseas to avoid US corporate taxes, still will not let the gov negotiate down drug prices. THEN, look at the proliferation of vertical monopolies that large health institutions are putting in place…sometimes to the point of monopolies and certainly cutting down competition, if we think cost competition is valid in the healthcare industry. YES, and we need tort reform but sometimes its a little hard when you have articles on a Johns Hopkins doctor that took pictures of women’s privates for 25 YEARS for his viewing pleasure (yes, I KNOW that isn’t malpractice, so don’t bother “educating” me on that point). Or when a three day hospital stay results in bills from SIX separate “specialties”, none of whom takes ultimate responsibility for the whole patient?
Libby, good luck on pricing services…I tried with cat scans, MRI’s, etc., and could never get a straight answer from the providers. Our non transparent system hurts ALL of us and drives up costs.
There is so much we could do to improve care and costs for ALL of us, but when we are still faced with those who don’t even believe that affordable and accessible healthcare is a right that enables us to pursue “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” I guess we will just hear the same specious arguments over and over and over.
well Cas, if it was actually affordable – by old school Webster definition (less expensive) and we were not expecting a 20% price increase as well as loss of subsidy, you may have a point. But, its not affordable. It expensive as all get out. If the subsidy thing is upheld, we will have a dramatic increase in taxes. It will also continue to repress the job market and states like mine (for now anyways) will have no jobs left.
Hi FFA, I am the real agent, not the booger bad copy stealing my moniker to post his trash.
I heard on the news this morning that the wonderful fresh faced Josh Earnest, the new mouthpiece for Obama has invited Clinton’s spinmeisters in for a meeting for advice on how better to communicate their message to the people. When policies and the message is so bad, there are few ways to spin it. The difference is that Slick Willy realized his policy was bad and made some changes like changing welfare policy. Of course, Newt had to shut the government down for a while to reach a balanced budget, but Willy blinked first. This White House keeps doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result. The result is a stagnant economy, fires raging all over the world and a disengaged President who would rather go to fundraisers than roll his sleeves up and solve problems.
Agent you need a dooms day shelter. As an evangelical, how can you tolerate Newt’s immoral behavior? If they guy can’t get his marriages figured out, or at least not cheat, then how can he balance a budget? I just did a copy and paste of your post in google, and it appears to be plagiarized. Here is the site that it popped up from.
You can place the blame for the entire V.A. “scandal” right at the feet of George W. Bush (Dubya) for getting us into two specious wars thereby overloading the V.A. system until it’s almost broken. Nice job asshole.
**Republicans Heading For Disaster as 57% Support ACA or More Liberal Health Care Reform.** What is interesting about the CNN poll is that the opposition to Obamacare isn’t all about opposing health care reform. In the poll, 59% oppose Obamacare, but 17% of the opposition is because the law is not liberal enough. The margin of opposition isn’t 40%-59%, but 40%-42%. People age 18-34 (42%) and over age 65 (44%) registered the highest levels of support for the ACA. The 18-34 age bracket also was the group most likely to believe that the law isn’t liberal enough (22%). Fifty-seven percent of those age 18-34 think that the law has helped themselves or other people. The characteristics of those who are most likely to claim that the ACA isn’t helping anyone are white (53%) male (45%) rural (53%) conservatives (64%) age 35-49 (50%). / The majority of Americans still claim that they oppose the ACA, but the reason for their opposition is not as cut and dry as Republicans would like to believe. when the percentage that wants more a more liberal health care reform is combined with the ACA supporters, fifty-seven percent of those polled support healthcare reform.
That’s exactly right DJ. That’s why Obama was elected. Twice. The majority of Americans want healthcare reform. And I am one of those that advocates universal care, so I’m not so fond of the ACA either.
I wonder what you employer thinks about you spending all day posting on this webstite. You’re like an adult version of young people who sit at home and play video games all day rather than being productive.
My employer is very happy with my work. I wonder what yours would think about you reading this blog all day and counting the number of posts I make. You’re no better than me just because you don’t post. You’re on here reading it. Typical right-wing hypocricy.

Booger, you really shouldn’t post under the moniker of someone else. That is a new low for you and shows how despicable you really are. I may have to report you to IJ and get your privileges lifted.
Don’t play dumb with me Booger. You don’t lie very well. You and your ilk post nonsense all the time and go after me and insult me at every opportunity. You are the number 1 suspect. I don’t think Libby or Planet or even Celtica would do this.

I would like to take everything back I have said about Ronald Reagan. He is the greatest President in the past 100 years and rescued the country from the mess Carter made and restored the economy. Reaganomics really did work.
LOL – Well I guess that must be true Captain Planet. I’m still elated that Agent and his “partner” are abled to be covered. I think that is what Ronnie would want. Tau Kappa Epsilon for life bitches. One on your dink, two in your stink!!
Rather than a long and drawn-out legal battle that might end up in the Supreme Court, the administration would do better to simply declare state exchanges to be part of the federal exchange system, and thereby undo the two judges’ tortured reading. The administration has the regulatory authority to do this; it’s already created state-federal “partnership” exchanges that don’t appear in the actual law. If John Boehner disagrees, let him sue.
Speaking of on our dime, your President is right at 400 fundraising trips on our dime. By the time he leaves office, he will have the equivalent of one whole year on the golf course, all on our dime. How about all those Hawaiian and Martha’s Vineyard vacations, all on our dime. You have your nerve criticizing Boehner when your President abuses his power every day of the week, does nothing to address problems, drinks beer and shoots pool.
Just to add some context, conservative dissemblers fail to note that Obama has taken far fewer days off than his predecessor, George W. Bush. Obama’s average of 21.5 vacation days per year makes him look like a workaholic compared to Bush’s 110 day average per year – more than five times Obama’s. But if you’re a rich white Republican you can’t be accused of being lazy or shiftless when you are enjoying some leisure time at your ranch in Crawford or on your yacht in Kennebunkport.

Libby, funny how he ran for Senate and the presidency from Illinois, then switched to Hawaii. How convenient!
Time for single payer.
My sentiments exactly. It’s not the entire VA. It’s some very big problems with horrible outcomes for a minority of VA locations.
26 out of over 1,700??? You call 1.5% a huge problem? It can be turned around, easily.
Definitely not the entire VA. Primarily just in McCain’s district. He must have thought he was back home in Panama swinging in his hammock on the beach near the canal and not keeping tabs on his district.
Let’s get rid of those 26+ Republicans in charge of those VA Facilities, bail them out, and put a Democrat in to clean up the mess. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Just like all the other mismanagement since 2008 from the Right.
Libby–There should be 0% problems with the VA!!! They are taking care of our Veterans for God’s sake!! It’s DISGUSTING the way our military men and women are treated…but let an illegal into the country….don’t even get me started on that whole fiasco…brought to you by none other than the POTUS that all you lefties voted in….twice…
EXACTLY, so why are the Republicans screwing it up?
Trust Me – 0% would be great in a perfect world, but the V.A. is obviously run by humans and humans screw up sometimes. But even you would have to admit that 1.5% is better than private industry.
0% should be the goal for ALL healthcare. However, it will never happen. Humans have an amazing capacity to not care how their actions affect others. There will always be some of those who work in healthcare. You would think the opposite, but no such luck. Plus, there are idiots everywhere. Whether the issues stem from lack of caring or laziness or idiocy, there will always be issues.
While I can’t say why THIS president hasn’t made more of an effort with the current influx of illegal immigrant children, isn’t it related to the law G W Bush signed regarding unaccompanied illegal children?
Oh snap!
The law was to protect children being trafficked in regards to sex slavery, not “unaccompanied children.”
KY, please wake up. The traffickers are the ones delivering the children to the border – for a price. They have been putting them in trucks and hauling them all over the country and basically selling them. Now, they just bring them over and tell them to just surrender and they will get all the benefits and can stay here.
Agent – will you wake up and take a reading comprehension course for crying out loud? That’s exactly what KY was saying. Jeesh!
Butt out of my conversations with someone else nosey troll. These kids are not in danger of being harmed from traffickers if they are delivered to the border unaccompanied. They want them delivered intact and to get all the benefits this country can give them. If the parents have paid them or their government has paid them, the cartels don’t care as long as they are paid.
Don’t get snarky with me, Agent. It’s not my fault you can’t read.

An independent
Ridiculous nonsense. You know nothing about how single payor operates.
And you don’t even know how to spell it dummy!
Burned.
Burned? Really? How old are you?
Old enough…
Old enough?
Agree!
This is a good ruling and will hopefully weaken the nationalization of healthcare. Things should be moving the opposite direction if we hope to fix anything.
If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.
If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
Families will save $2,500 per year.
All lies from the Liar in Chief!
Who from the GOP would beat Obama?
You are so descriptive. It’s almost like you are right there.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hED7PFkY98I
Well, there you go. Game over?
And why did it not just go there to begin with?
Because for some reason, every issue litigated has to go through each level of court one at a time. I didn’t make the rules, I’m just sharing the knowledge.
KY, the law was not litigated when it was rammed through Congress without even reading it. Perhaps someone should have read it before it was signed into law and then there would not have been numerous challenges ever since. Bad laws have bad consequences. You should realize that by now.
It had to be passed before it could be litigated. And it was litigated by SCOTUS.
This is an obvious one. oBama has changed things up – why not just request this go right there.
we need to get to the business of being in business. we need to know what set of rules to operate under.
There’s a thing called due process, FFA. It’s how are legal system works.
Time to turn our attention to finding some real market solutions, including attention to provider costs, a whole area left vacant by the ACA
Tort reform?
That would be the red states #1. They are the ones that have hurt their constituancy more than helped it.
I hope this obstacle turns into an opportunity for a single payor option.
Don’t forget, Dave…Liberalism is a mental disorder. The ones on these blogs prove it every day.
So wanting freedom to make my own choices about my body, who I marry, with whom I have sex, and to practice or not practice my religion is a mental disorder? That’s what liberalism means to me. Freedom from discrimination and harrassment and the right to adequate health care. If that’s a mental disorder, I hope it’s contagious.
I wonder if Liberalism as a mental disorder is covered under Obamacare. I am not sure there is a treatment for it other than a frontal lobotomy. That might just do the trick. The prime candidates are Booger, 102, Celtica, Libby and the clueless Ron.
I liked that post too Agent. BTW, make sure you have an inspector check out your insurance shed. There are rumors that the nation of Texico was built with Chinese drywall. I don’t think it would be a good outcome if your fireworks business in the stall next door catches on fire.
Spirit and intent are not valid legal defenses,
FFA, I think we know what the intent was in the language.
Those “dufus” states as you call them did what was best for their citizens.
Now maybe we can get down to brass tacks and put together a viable universal option for all Americans, which should have been done in the first place.
Agent – always a champion of change. Not!
You are wrong. One republican congressman voted for the ACA. His name is Joseph Cao.
STONE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!
Do we know what states did not have the subsidies set up?
Laura says:
Do we know what states did not have the subsidies set up?
there is a map of State vs Federal Exchange States on this site: http://obamacarefacts.com/state-health-insurance-exchange.php
Agent, as always, you’re a retard. Healthcare.gov ended FY’13 with record numbers of enrollees. You, old man, are the problem.
http://www.politico.com/story/2014/03/healthcaregov-website-down-obamacare-deadline-105197.html
Stan,
You do understand that Agent sold vacuum cleaners door to door right up until 5 years ago right?
Stan the ass.
I believe they said it was the states with few colleges and universities than military bases and NASCAR tracks
Libby & KY don’t see much wrong with the VA Single Payer system. How do you see the VA scandal, phony or real? I nearly lost one of my golf buddies to the VA system. He had to come back home to get surgery he needed and his doctor said he would have had less than a week to live if he stayed at the VA hospital.
Nah Agent Opie, they be hotter than a coon dog on the scent of a pole cat, coo coo cachou.
1.5% of hospitals having a problem is not hardly a “scandal.” And read the articles on IJ about how many people are hurt in civilian hospitals and sue. You act like no-one gets bad treatment outside the V.A. What do you know about it anyway? I didn’t think stateside quartermasters got V.A. benefits.
I think we are getting libbied with her multiple thumbs down- Ha Ha
That’s your M.O. private, not mine.
Party at the Alpha Delta Omega house Agent! Wear your Rangers hat.
http://espn.go.com/minor-league-baseball/story/_/id/11239168/gm-andy-milovich-myrtle-beach-pelicans-offers-get-prostate-exam-game
What was your “golf buddy’s” name? We should verify this.
Yeah, it was a Democrat controlled Congress. Regardless of that fact, single payor would not have passed. That’s the reason the ACA became such a nightmare. Pandering to the centrists.
Now, censor me private.
It would not have passed because even those numb nut Democrats were smart enough to want to get relected
Who do you think elected them in the first place? People WANTED health care reform. The only ones against it were old, Republican men. Kinda like you.
Good thing you’re a dying breed. LOL!
Mind boggling the number of people that dislike your factual comment.
Probably people that don’t appreciate specious insults like “Plastic Nancy.”
Speaking of Plastic Pelosi, didn’t the Republican’s favorite gun slinger have some work done?
http://cheezburger.com/7613112064
Oh who are we trying to kid? POTUS will just issue another Executive Order. Nothing to see here. Carry on. Oh look! Squirrel!
Yea, he can issue an executive order for this but won’t issue and executive order to send the illegals back to Mexico immediately.
Bigot.
Racist
You’re an idiot. If I was a racist, would I have voted for a black president? Twice? You are the narrow minded bigot here friend.
Libby is that the reason you voted for him, so you could claim that you’re not a racist? You’re the most bigoted person on this blog.
And speaking of that, how does what Sargeant Major said equate to bigotry? So by advocating that ILLEGAL ALIENS should be deported to their home country, that in turn makes you a bigot? Once again you’re showing your liberal-lunacy.
I’m only bigoted against closed-minded right-tards like you.
Why do that when he can more or less ensure a new wave of democrat voters bought and paid for.
WWCCD?
What would Chelsea Clinton do?
Cobra Commander
Ceiling cat
CC Deville – Poison
So 55mph really means what?
It means that Obama did not change the law with his “pen.” The IRS delayed implementation of several parts, which was within their authority to do.
Really. I can’t understand how thick-headed Republicans are. Do you really think the POTUS could flagrantly break the law and not have repercussions?
As far as the courts go, different courts rule differently all the time. Get with it, FFA.
FFA, 55 MPH in a 40 MPH zone used to mean a ticket. In todays world, it depends on the “spirit of the law” and may be ok. Remember Slick Willy’s famous words – It depends on what the meaning of is is.
it means you need to pick up the pace
Per cnn.com there was a second ruling today on Obamacare. This one, from Richmond, upheld the subsidies. In other words, two rulings that conflict one another. Either way, both of these decisions will be appealed. Until the appeal is complete, the law will remain as is. So really, no news today… stay tuned.
It is time for every person to realize how important the 2014 and 2016 elections are.
We want to have elected officials that can nominate, vet and confirm competent judges versus these clowns who interpret the law they way they want to.
After this and the Hobby Law decision, it is more important than ever to keep a Democrat in the White House.
Remember, if you want to live like a Republican, vote for a Democrat!
Birth control is not nonsense.
Watch out Frank, you getting libbied.
Who’s going to pay for that, nuf? Republicans? I think not.
Strangely, I agree with you about the end result of the ACA.
Strangely KY? Why is it strange to tell the truth about this fiasco? Do you now admit there was a lot of bad ideas incorporated into a 2,700 page law written by Progressives and passed on a strictly partisan basis in the dead of night without even reading it?
This plan was first indoctrinated on Planet Kolob. You guys were for this.
The strange part is agreeing with Sargeant Major. About anything.
I have not advocated for nor have I expressed any liking for the ACA. Therefore you are wasting your blogging time trying to convince me the law is bad.
just sayin’
You’re an idea I could get behind…
But seriously…”Every one will need health care at some point in their life and making it accessible and affordable is what we should be doing as a nation.” So do you care to explain how the abomination that is Obamacare has hiked insurance premiums across the board making affordable health insurance even harder to attain? Can’t wait to hear the cock-eyed liberal logic on this one and how “it’s because of Republicans!” LOL
Destro, didn’t you know if you got a big enough subsidy, you could save up to $2,500 on your premium? Thank you American Taxpayer for your generosity.
I’ve already spoken out against the ACA. As usual, you weren’t paying attention. I said it’s not liberal enough for me. I’m for universal care.
Thumbs up this post if you think Ronald Reagan is awesome
Thumbs down this post if would let Ronald Reagan “Bugger” you
OK. I’ll just leave that post alone. LOL! But it looks like Private Major would just love to be buggered by Ronnie! ROTFLMAO!!!
This was just a test to either see if people were reading posts and thumbing up or down based on their bias or If they really have those feelings in mind. I have a feeling that although they have been buggered before, they never had knew there was a word for it.
LOL
Wow, there are VA hospitals in Lexington and Louisville and they are excellent facilities. I also know the hospitals in central Louisiana are good.
My father and my husband have used these facilities and have no complaints.
KY, Bossier City La, not so much. They are on the list as one of the poorest run of the VA hospitals.
Private Major I’m surprised you are able to type today after spending the entire night and into the morning thumbing down every post made by me, txmouthbreatherboogereatertx, Celtica and Stan. You must be one tired little soldier.
you mean one tuckered bugger!
One worn out maggot.
Nah, he can just go to the VA and get it checked out for carpral tunnel. Even if it was from spanking it to pictures of Reagan topless on a horse.
True. He’s just another freeloader mooching off the government.
Typical right-wing hypocrisy.
You thumb down all day and blog on this site. You should be happy that the owner hustle’s enough to cover your wasted time. Besides that I don’t have the time.By the time I look at this, I have to open your post because they have been hammered- LOL!!!
The only one that may have been a private would have been you dad, if he was even in the service. Your such a liberal turd you probably enjoy bashing soldiers as much as being a racist. Then you turn around and lie pretending to wave the flag and talk about dear old dad. You lying tub.
Let’s see how long it takes Libby the loon to hit the thumbs down button over and over-LOL IT MAY SET A NEW RECORD
Private Major the inveterate liar. Of course you are thumbing me down. Your previous posts that were censored are all opened up again and almost every single one of mine is closed. Only you have that kind of spite. You’re not fooling anyone.
Libby posted at 8:37am. By 11:33am her post was hidden. That’s very telling.
Sargeant Major posted at 10:36pm and by 11:33am his posts are well loved. yeah, no jerry-rigging this stuff.
However, it doesn’t matter. Well except I have to click the stupid link to read the comments. *sigh*
jerry rigging or Gerrymandering?
Gerrymandering. A right-wing specialty. Just ask Karl Rove.
I wish that guy would eat a sheet of LSD. I know he acts as if he already did, but we need the real thing.

I’ll say it again. You go girl!
But be prepared for Private Major to thumb you into oblivion. He’s been a busy little beaver lately.
well Cas, if it was actually affordable – by old school Webster definition (less expensive) and we were not expecting a 20% price increase as well as loss of subsidy, you may have a point.
Here is the site that it popped up from.
http://www.logcabin.org
LOL!
You can place the blame for the entire V.A. “scandal” right at the feet of George W. Bush (Dubya) for getting us into two specious wars thereby overloading the V.A. system until it’s almost broken. Nice job asshole.
Another Bush Blamer. Geez Lib, did you work for Obama’s campaign, or just copy all his talking points? Asshole.
Geez, James, did you give Dubya a handjob lately? I lay blame where blame is due, pal.
Here’s some eye candy for you Neo-Con boy wonders
http://thehairpin.com/2012/11/scandals-of-classic-hollywood-ronald-reagan-plays-the-president/
That was an awesome article. Thanks.
Libby,
I wonder what you employer thinks about you spending all day posting on this webstite. You’re like an adult version of young people who sit at home and play video games all day rather than being productive.
Typical liberal.
My employer is very happy with my work. I wonder what yours would think about you reading this blog all day and counting the number of posts I make. You’re no better than me just because you don’t post. You’re on here reading it. Typical right-wing hypocricy.
Guys and Gals, I have a confession to make that I really am for the ACA. I just wanted to see if I could get a chorus of oohs and ahhs from y’all. My Partner and I really appreciate that we will finally be covered.
Booger, you really shouldn’t post under the moniker of someone else. That is a new low for you and shows how despicable you really are. I may have to report you to IJ and get your privileges lifted.
What are you talking about?
Don’t play dumb with me Booger. You don’t lie very well. You and your ilk post nonsense all the time and go after me and insult me at every opportunity. You are the number 1 suspect. I don’t think Libby or Planet or even Celtica would do this.
Orville, That sounds like something that I would do, but I didn’t. As you’ve seen in the past, I have no problem saying what I’m going to say and wouldn’t hide behind anything.
I don’t know who did it, but it was funny!
Since none of you will “man” up and admit this, perhaps I will have to post under your moniker and say something Conservative. That should go over very well with you, right?
That would be hilarious. And like txmouthbreatherboogereatertx says, I don’t have any problem saying what I mean under my own moniker. I don’t need to use anyone else’s.
Sure Agent go ahead. Just so you know, I never enter a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
OK, I’ll “man” up and admit that it was me.
LOL
“report you to IJ and get your privileges lifted”? Really? Oh, that’s hilarious! They. Don’t. Care.
I would like to take everything back I have said about Ronald Reagan. He is the greatest President in the past 100 years and rescued the country from the mess Carter made and restored the economy. Reaganomics really did work.
Agent – that was a little too obvious…
LOL – Well I guess that must be true Captain Planet. I’m still elated that Agent and his “partner” are abled to be covered. I think that is what Ronnie would want. Tau Kappa Epsilon for life bitches. One on your dink, two in your stink!!
http://thehairpin.com/2012/11/scandals-of-classic-hollywood-ronald-reagan-plays-the-president/
That would allow Boehner more time to drink, smoke, and tan
On our dime.
“…I say that any boob kin take
And shove a ball in a pocket.
And they call that sloth.
The first big step on the road
To the depths of deg-ra-Day–
I say, first, medicinal wine from a teaspoon,
Then beer from a bottle.
An’ the next thing ya know,
Your son is playin’ for money
In a pinch-back suit…
Friends, let me tell you what I mean.
You got one, two, three, four, five, six pockets in a table.
Pockets that mark the diff’rence
Between a gentlemen and a bum,
With a capital “B,”
And that rhymes with “P” and that stands for pool!…”
You got trouble
Down here in River City
With a capital T that rhymes with P
and that stands for Pool!
That stands for Pooool.
Yeah but at least the President doesn’t drop roofies in his alcohol asking to be “Mark Bachmaned”. Then obstructs bills that match his lifestyle. Those living in their log cabins are an interesting bunch.
oh an you forgot all his trips to Kenya right? Those red eye flights back and forth
Ah, Libby, the minister of disinformation. Please explain how GW chopping wood and bike trail riding in Crawford is more expensive than taking AF1 and all support planes and a huge contingent to Hawaii for 15 days at a time. How about going to Camp David for the weekend compared to yet another Martha’s Vineyard for 15 days for another $4-5 million. I would like to compare the cost of Obama for 6 years to Bush for eight years.
You forgot the other 250 days a year he sat in the White House while Cheney ran the place, costing The United States trillions in terms of lives and unfunded wars. All the while, his buddies were making fortunes depleting the middle class.
Just because the President’s home happens to be in Hawaii instead of Crawford TX makes no difference. Except for the fuel, it’s the same amount of money to go either place.
Agent,
What is your HAM Radio handle, over.
Vacations of recent presidents at this point in their presidencies: Reagan – 29 trips, 180 days; Clinton – 11 trips, 84 days; Bush II – 50 trips, 326 days; Obama – 14 trips, 95 days.
Oh, snap, Agent!
Libby, funny how he ran for Senate and the presidency from Illinois, then switched to Hawaii. How convenient!
Funmy. George H.W. Bush vacationed in Kennebunkport during his presdidency, but wasn’t he a Congressman from Texas? You guys are pathetic!
Yeah that is weird. I think Mitt did that too. Utah, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Kolob. Which one had the car elevator?
