What a great cottage industry! If I were younger, I’d definitely focus on a career as a cyber crusader for justice! How awesome is that?

Yes, I have to think that this is a career path that could lead to long term, stable employment. I can’t envision the need for cyber security to become obsolete (like typewriter repair) any time soon. Can only get worse as we use more technology in our homes & cars.

The CFAA needs to be updated to read like the standard assault exclusion to include an exception for self-defense.

Once again the Feds show their true colors. They should be devoting ABSOLUTELY NO RESOURCE to determining who hit Iran with a “hack-back”.

Also, what evidence is there that NK was the hacker – other than a bunch of assumptions based on the content of The Interview?

Not so sure that wasn’t planned cover.

I seriously doubt they are devoting any resources to it, but they have to keep up appearances.

This is why I can’t understand the rush to cloud computing and digital currency. Sure, some money may be saved by not needing the same network as before, but all the eggs are in one basket and if it gets taken down everything collapses. Same thing for digital currency. Wiped out and no way to recover.

I can imagine any type of special interest group essentially having their own private armies of contract hackers doing their bidding.
This is an area where the federal government really needs to step in and figure this out.
How different is this when political parties, labor unions and corporations in pre Nazi Germany essentially had their own armies and there would be daily riots and fights in the streets. The difference now is that anyone can attack anyone else from anywhere around the world and for any reason. If you like chaos, then you might like the idea of uncontrolled hacking and assault.

Scariest words ever spoken – “I’m with the government, and I’m here to help.” Once again, we’re reactive instead of proactive.
