One thing that would help to understand this better is Progressive’s footprint. For just one example, if 90% of their business is located on the East Coast, it wouldn’t surprise me that Progressive handled the highest frequency of claims from the East Coast.
I think this report is helpful more as a gut-check kind of review as opposed to being able to completely rely on this information as an accurate indication of the “Top Vehicle Claim Trends from 2014”
I wonder about the age and experience level of those riders in those single bike accidents. With Bikes being featured more prominently (in movies and video games) these days, than they were in the past several decades, it stands to reason that the bike’s singluar attraction, (the thrill of a ride so to speak) to the younger generation would be difficult to ignore. Unfortunately, with youth comes the feeling that they’re in complete control, up until that last split-second…, but then again, aren’t we all…?

My biggest takeaway is the single bike accidents. I suspect many bikers would believe that autos are the cause of most bike wrecks.
