Apparently, the US Justice Dept. fears the Court will rule against ACA, and have been suggesting Republicans will be at fault if the Courts so rule. By suggesting what they believe is their best chance to salvage ACA, and trying to point blame at Republicans now, before the Court rules on ‘Burwell et al’, the US Justice Dept. is discretely admitting their expectation of defeat.

      Yogi Polar Berra,

You said, “Apparently, the US Justice Dept. fears the Court will rule against ACA…”. Upon what do you base this statement? It has been challenged in courts for nearly 5 years and each challenge has been rejected by the courts.

I have stated many times in the past that I am against the PPACA in its curent form, so do notlabel me adefender of the law. My issue is the way Republicans have attempted to repeal the law. They have wasted millions in taxpayer money and unknown hours that could have been utilized to eiter work with Democrats, not necessary the Obama Administration, in making revisions or presenting a true replacement of the law.

Ron – why bother going through the dance? POTUS would simply VETO any changes. Or, as he’s done repeatedly, simply declare Congress closed, by Executive Order!

          Pete,

Then why did they waste everyone’s time and taxpayer money trying to repeal the law? To score political points? Does not sound very fiscally responsible.

My point is that if they were to get enough Democrats on board in Congress, they could override his veto. In addition, if they presented their plan for a replacement to the people, they may have been able to garner enough public support to force the Democrats’ hand.

You said, “Or, as he’s done repeatedly, simply declare Congress closed, by Executive Order!” Is that what Presidents Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II were doing when they each signed more EOs per year than President Obama?

Notice hoe incluude presidents from both parties?

Ron, are you about to stroke out since your last two posts have numerous typing/spelling errors? You keep complaining that Congress has wasted taxpayer dollars trying to repeal this Obamanation. They realized early that it was the worst law ever passed and totally partisan by Democrats. Where are the Democrats who realized after they passed it that they probably made a mistake and offer to pass a bill more friendly to the country? Perhaps they should get with the Republicans and pass a bill to repeal and they might have a better chance at re-election.

            Agent,

Shockingly, you have failed to comprehend my post, totally.

Since every strategic move the Republicans have made to get rid of this law has failed, do you still honestly believe they have taken the right approach? A simple yes or no will suffice.

They did present plans for replacement to the people. Media outlets covered it up, and Fox, was belittled repeatedly for reporting on the plans.

They don’t waste tax payer time and money by trying to start a fight to get rid of the ACA.

You aren’t a moderate and you’re a liar. When they try to do what they can to stop the law you say they are wasting money, and they should over ride Obama’s veto. Do you know how often that happens?

If you wanted the ACA gone you should have voted Romney, which you said would make no difference. There’s the hypocrite in you.

Also, the number of EO’s is not equal to the same scope.

Also, false equivalency does nothing to solve our political problems.

Also, easy answer for why to fight something and keep it alive:

Keep the debate on it open. Otherwise the public would forget about this law, and accept it as you often do.

It isn’t wasting taxpayer money to try and fight a bad law. Why don’t you hold Obama accountable on this? You say they are bad for trying to get it repealed, why is Obama not bad for maintaining it?

Pipe down boy. The sky is not falling. Not everything is a political cover-up by the left and not every point you disagree with is a “false equivalency” statement.

A simple yes Ron. They were elected to get rid of this law and keep it in front of the public. Very few citizens have benefited and a whole lot hurt by it. Any law passed by lies, deceit and a totally partisan way by Democrats was bound to fail. With the looming double digit rate increases on the horizon, that proves what a disaster it has been. Don’t give me your diatribe about that proves we should have Universal Healthcare. If it were possible, that would be even a bigger nightmare for the American people. I think we are seeing a death spiral now and of course, the public will expect the Republicans to clean up the Progressive Democratic mess. Time to start over and the first thing to go are the mandates and work from there.
