Robbie Thompson has been hired as the new executive director for Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).
Thompson brings 18 years of management experience to PLUS, most recently as president and CEO of the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Prior to his involvement with CUAD, Thompson served as vice president and general counsel for the Members Cooperative Credit Union and senior vice president and general counsel for the New Jersey Credit Union League, according to the announcement.
Thompson holds a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and Bachelor of Arts degrees in business and economics from the University of Minnesota Morris. He sits on the board of directors for the Midwest Society of Association Executives and is presently working toward his Certified Association Executive designation.
Thompson will assume the executive director role at the Minneapolis-based PLUS on July 29.
PLUS provides professional liability educational programs and seminars, networking events, educational products, and information regarding professional liability. Membership includes more than 7,000 individuals active in the various fields of professional liability.
