I’d award the rights to the monkey’s uncle.

If a donkey takes a selfie, is he making an @ss of himself?
If you can change the spots on a leopard, are you tampering with the design?
Is it a racial bias to determine if a zebra is white on black instead of black on white?

    Can I go home now?

It’s only right that a monkey should get some real income, after working all those years for peanuts.

I thought elephants work for peanuts and monkeys work for bananas?

What is the world coming to? Shame on the courts for even listening to it. In Europe they call crazy, crazy!

Anyone dumb enough to donate good money to PETA needs to take their head out of their A$$ and have their brain thoroughly examined.

I think swears and personal attacks are immature and have no place on this site

Never mind the ridiculous animal as a rights holder angle here (and by the way I’m a supporter of animal charities, conservation efforts, etc.), I see this as just another way for PETA to try and get money or media exposure which they can turn in to additional funding.

I’m not sure how this can really succeed. I’d equate this to someone taking your camera or phone you’ve left behind, snapping a photo and then claiming copyright. Since they took it with your camera (especially if you didn’t ask them to), I’d imagine you still own the rights to it.

Things are too out of hand these days, I mean they are too liberal in that everyone thinks everything is theirs.
