It wouldn’t disappoint me in the least to see AIG reduced in size. They have always been an outlaw company, operated dishonestly and thought they could dictate terms to everyone else.
The fact that Fisher won’t split AIG is probably because of ego. Even though it’s a sound idea, no CEO wants to look as if they were bullied into following the orders of an activist investor.
