“That program will need congressional approval, and the reception so far on Capitol Hill has been “a little frosty,” Foxx said.”

Of course it’s a little frosty, so is the collective color of Capitol Hill hair, which just so happens to be the age group who resists change the most. Why shouldn’t you do the test program? Think about how air travel and all it has done for us. Driverless cars could be a great innovation, but we have to test them first. Put the program ‘in drive’.

Why not invest in drivers education? Some states don’t even require it. We can bemoan horrible human drivers all day, fact remains we’ve brought it on ourselves. Driving isn’t a right, it’s a privilege that I once thought was only granted to those who could demonstrate the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently. Guess not!
