As Uber already has in place “surge pricing” protocols, it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for them to allow individual drivers set their own price (if they think they are getting paid too little) and then let the market decide whether what they are getting (charging) is a fair amount or not. Capitalism and the market deciding what they should get paid rather than Uber or a judge.
Typical CA thinking. They want employee status but do NOT want to work as employees with all the requirements that come with it.
Most drivers pursue the job to have the freedom to work as much or as little as needed financially.
To allege employee status would kill the job when overtime, labor laws, minimum wage violations and all the recent liberal idiocy becomes involved.
