This is an important step toward calming tensions that exist in the USA and other Western countries due to the accelerated number of Muslim Terrorist attacks on innocent non-Muslims.

But, when will THESE issues be addressed by employers AND our Federal Government? …

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Nice_attack

Yes, I know the Nice, France terrorist attack was not work related.

Obviously, and unfortunately, there are many more such attacks propelled by jihadists. I don’t want to waste time posting those links.

I posted Wiki links, which are typically left-slanted interpretations. Consider that OTHER links for reports available would have produced much more truthful, uncensored reporting of the facts behind those 3 events.

Yogi, why to leftists not see the truth regarding Islam and Muslims in general? Why should America be tolerant to them if they refuse to be assimilated into our society? We should all note the trouble they are causing around the world. They don’t want to assimilate, but instead take over and dominate and will kill any non-believer without a second thought.

War is vastly different than voluntarily killing a child.

Lying clown, nobody is killing babies. They are aborting zygotes, usually the size of a pinhead – or your brain – which can only be seen under a microscope, and consisting of only a few cells. Even in the later legal stages they are not babies, couldn’t live on their own, and cannot be called babies with any shred of trurh. Keep lying and misleading though, it’s all you insane lunatics have left. Also, completely irrelevant to the discussion regarding Islam.

The smart people on the right, or in the middle, who have been intimidated in the past by the thought of being labeled a racist, homophobe, bigot, etc. are gradually learning to ignore feeble attempts by Liberals to restrict their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to freedom of speech, and to stand up for ALL of their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

Please continue to exercise your RIGHT to express your opinions, despite the fact that the politicians you support are trying to rescind it, step by step. It allows us to see how misguided you are, and how ineffective your attempt to censor others has been.

            UW –

Here are the definitions for racism:

            1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.

2.a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.

3.hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

Here are the definitions of terrorism:

            1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.

            2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.

            3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

Here is the definitions of leader and protector:

            Leader:
            1. a person or thing that leads.
            2. a guiding or directing head, as of an army, movement, or political group.

Protector: a person or thing that protects; defender; guardian.

Here is the definition of common sense:

            1. sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like; normal native intelligence.

Now let me put them all together for you so you might be able to understand that:

Donald Trump is a leader and wants to be a protector of this country. He is using his common sense to determine that terrorism is threatening the US. He is not employing racism, but is using common sense when he says he wants to halt Muslims from entering this country. He is using common sense to determine that there are no reliable ways to vet the refugees to determine who is a terrorist or not. He is using common sense, not racism, to want to protect us.

Hopefully, you can apply common sense to understand that Trump is not a racist, but a leader who wants to protect Americans.

    Couple of items:
First, Trump doesn’t propose a “ban” of Muslims…he has proposed a “temporary ban” of Muslims until our country gets its act together on who is coming and going from this country.

    Second, in the final remark:
“It’s a divisive climate politically, and that’s painful,” he says. “Muslims, like everyone else, just want to be respected.”

If Muslims in the United States wish to obtain the respect of the American people, let’s see them organize and speak up about the atrocities and despicable acts being perpetrated by extremist Islamists.
The minimal condemnation actually heard in the U.S. from the Muslim community about these incidents, gives rise to the belief the barbarism that is displayed by extremists is actually supported.

They have organized and protested terror attacks. You’re statements at pure ignorance, or utter BS. When will it be “figured out”? We’ve had terror attacks here for decades. It’s basically a permanent ban-unless you’re one of his rich friends of course. Since right wing terrorism is only a little behind in the last 15 years maybe we should ban them too.

Based on what conservatives still say about Iraq, terror, and Muslims there’s no reason to think it will ever be” figured out,” they don’t even agree with close to 100% of scientists when it comes to climate change and evolution.

Also, it’s illegal, immoral, and a terribly ineffective policy. Only clueless idiots support it.

And then we have Mr Risk immediately calling people “ignorant racists” for expressing any concern about the danger they clearly face now and having to change everything in their culture and lifestyle – while the people that “voluntarily chose” to join this society are expected to make no changes in how they act, dress, or conduct themselves in a place of business.

      *During Ramadan*

I’m fairly certain we should stop considering them Muslim anymore…

ISIS are rabid, vicious people that need to be removed from the face of the planet. Muslim? I don’t think they qualify. They’re thugs using Islam as a cloak (thin though it is) to shield their actions.

Correct Jon. They are a gang of thugs and fit the profile of most gangs – young men, poor background, alienated, etc. Plain & simple. Like some so-called Christians, they’ve taken bits & pieces from their Holy Book and twisted them to fit their purposes. Unlike the urban gangs we’re accustom to seeing this this gang has weapons at their disposal and oil revenue. Very difficult to deal with. We can declare war on ISIS but it may be like the war on drugs and prove to be nearly impossible to win. Most Americans don’t have an problem with Islam (they don’t know what it is), they have a problem with a dark colored person with an accent. We always have.

Good one GDH. I think it is about time that employers make real Americans feel safer when they are in the midst of Muslims. I seem to remember the poor woman in Moore, Ok that was a co-worker to a Muslim that cut her head off in the name of Islam. That is typically called workplace violence like the Major Hassan attack at Ft. Hood, but it is really Islamic Terrorism that does not condone any deviation from their warped cult. They will never be Americans and their allegiance is to Allah, not the US government. If they don’t like it here, go back to the middle east and leave us alone.

Yes, those incidents HAPPENED at the workplace. The CAUSE, however, was based on the Islamic beliefs.

Here is the article stating that he tried to convert his co-workers to Islam. Yes, he was fired that day and came back with a vengeance. So are thousands of other people but they don’t cut off peoples heads.

Do I also need to give you definitions of what hate speech really means??

I do not hate Muslims or any other non-Christian religion. I don’t even hate atheists.

I do not even hate you even though you continue to call me names just because I have a different opinion than you. I think that is called intolerance, which many people on the left blame Christians of being. Do you see the hypocrisy? Do I need to get you more definitions to help you understand the real meanings of these words.

I sincerely hope you have a good day so that maybe you can chill out and learn to have a normal discussion or debate.

So, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Shaquille O’Neal, Ahmad Rashad, the list goes on, they all want to terrorize? Why did Muhammed Ali protest the war again? Oh yeah, it was peace. He had no reason to attack someone who hadn’t attacked him. Sounds like a reasonable take. Much more reasonable than what our government decided to do.

Once again, a propaganda piece about how we need to respect Muslims and accommodate their religion. How do most employers treat Catholics attending mass on Holy Days of Obligation? Take personal time (if you are lucky enough to work in a place that gives you personal time, otherwise it’s vacation time).

This is nothing more than death by a thousand cuts. Let’s see the Muslims start acclimating and assimilating to the world they have moved to and stop telling us we need to bend to them.

As far as I have experienced (at different employers from higher education, retail, and the insurance world–you use your PTO/Vacation time for any religious holiday that isn’t already incorporated into the employer’s schedule.

The only thing I’ve seen different is that my wife’s hospital allows Jewish employees to switch around their Christmas holiday days to coincide with Hannukah (sp) and use additional PTO if they want the full time off.

Respecting religious holidays is the norm, as is using personal time off to be out of work those days.

I see nothing wrong with giving employees the freedom to celebrate their own holiday, as long as they don’t get more time off than anyone who celebrates differently. However, when it comes to prayer time…I think that is like smoke breaks. It feels like favoritism to those who don’t take the break. When you interview candidates, you should still be able to explain the time commitment and working hours of the job and ask if the candidate can meet those requirements. Religion is not a handicap that is protected by having to offer some form of accommodation at the workplace.

Companies need to have a strong set of rules that oblige each and every employee’s compliance, with no special treatment of one group. Special, selective treatment of Moslems giving them advantages over others is a sure recipe for resentment and mayhem.

The book/guideline ISLAM IN THE WORKPLACE offers an excellent set of management tools that let employers and managers avoid pitfalls that can be costly and damaging..

Why is it that every time we go into a third world hell hole, we end up importing thousands of inhabitants, only to become victims of our own generosity. I say get out of nation building and let them destroy each other as they have done since the 7th century.

Newt gave a great synopsis of the Islamic atrocities over the last 38 days, and yet we are castigated for not wanting them in our home land. Beware, for they are dedicated to conquering all either by the sword or by total consumption of the resident culture.

Assimilate to US culture and laws or vacate to your country of origin, ASAP.

That ^ remark applies to ALL LEGAL Immigrants, not just Muslims.

PS I do not want to press 2 para hable espanol. Such appeasement causes increased costs for translation of English to Spanish, and vice-versa. Assimilation is the price immigrants must pay to join the greatest nation on Earth. IF they believe America is great, they can join it. If they believe their culture and country is great, they should remain at that place.

I DON’T wonder how many politicians have openly invited ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS into their homes while they are more than happy to allow, aid, or encourage them to enter the USA illegally, at great expense to taxpayers, and great risk of injury to US citizens. The answer is: none.

Well, there goes pretty much every holiday, then. Irish immigrants, say good bye to St. Patrick’s Day. Christian immigrants, say good bye to Christmas, Easter, Lent to name just a few. Jewish immigrants, no more Hanukkah. No Cinco de Mayo, no Halloween, no Thanksgiving…I’ll stop there. Oh wait! America is a melting pot of culture. In fact, it is that mix that makes us so unique and so free. Or, as you put it Yogi, the greatest nation on Earth. I also loved learning a new language, Spanish. Sometimes I do hit 2 just to see if I need a refresher course or not. No, my fellow brothers and sisters, you don’t have to get off my lawn. Just bring a dish to share and we’ll have great time! There’s cold beer in the fridge.

He forgets that there is no national language, religion, etc. He forgets how brutal we were to the Native Americans who did not like European’s new ways. The ignorant forget history.

Truthspeaker – And by “the Europeans new ways”, you of course mean using “modern technology” (for their time) to better their lives.

You also seem to be ignorant of history in that many of those same people were friendly to the native Americans and actually helped them survive and become more modern.

One other big difference between then and now. The Europeans were trying to modernize the Indians. Whereas, the radical Islamists actually want to take society backwards. Aren’t you concerned with women’s equal rights? Aren’t you concerned with the rights for the LGBT community?

Planet – I guess we need to use definitions with you too.

Two common definitions of assimilate are:

          1. to take in and incorporate as one’s own; absorb:
He assimilated many new experiences on his European trip.

          2. to bring into conformity with the customs, attitudes, etc., of a group, nation, or the like; adapt or adjust:
          to assimilate the new immigrants.

Assimilating does not mean to abandon one’s own culture, but to embrace the culture of other’s, in addition to your own culture. You know…accepting the diversity by respecting it. There are very few, if any, conservatives saying Muslim’s have to (must) convert to Christianity. This is not true according to the Koran. However, there are many Muslims that do not follow that portion of the Koran and are tolerant of other’s beliefs.

The vast majority of the naturally born Americans today had relatives that cam from other countries to become Americans and they assimilated…adopted the culture. They even REQUIRED their children to learn English so that they could assimilate more easily. Many continued to speak their native language in their homes and many chose to be “all in” and only speak English at home too.

We are not asking them to give up Ramadan, nor should they require “special” treatment just because they are Muslims.

There are many employers that require their employees to work during Christian Holidays. Shouldn’t those people have the same right to follow their religious beliefs?

Muslim-Americans should not be treated any differently than any other American. Whether that means treating them better or worse.

Visitors (immigrants) to this country have to abide by our rules and laws just like we have to do the same in their country.

Yogi wrote, “If they believe their culture and country is great, they should remain at that place.”

Maybe you should send him the dictionary. My words were in response to that sentence he wrote.
