Eddie, this is a very convoluted story that only a low information drug using Progressive Democrat could dream up to rip off an insurance company. Good thing Mercury seems to have a good claims investigation unit. As Dave pointed out, why is this dufus not in jail for attempted fraud?
I continue to be amazed by your nonsensical comments here. First of all, he isn’t in jail because the investigation by CDI isn’t complete. Didn’t you read that? Second, where does the article say anything about drugs? Do you normally just make things up?
agent usually posts without reading the article and totally makes things up all the time, then gets nasty and insults you if you dare disagree with him on anything. for your sake, i hope you’re an old, white, republican, christian, native american who lives in texas and works as an agent. otherwise, you should expect some insults from him soon enough!
All one has to do is look at what this sleazey dude was trying to do to realize it is not a person in their right mind. If not on drugs, are you saying he is just a low information thug trying to rip off an insurance company?
That sounds like something only a cuck would say, now miss my point.

Actually, this is more like something that a Tea Party wacko would do (e.g. try to claim tax-exempt status, then once they realize they are being investigated, they withdraw their claim – they should be in jail for attempted fraud).

DCMS,
Remember the Tea Party wacko Bundys who are doing time right now? The dude that was hiding under the tarp who said he was going out in a blaze pulled a gun and was put down like the lame dog he was. Yeah, those fake Americans! Bunch of criminal thugs is what they are. They can sit in their jail-barred time out and think about their ill choices, drug-induced or not.

He is in a garbage market, in a city with about 80K people. There obviously are not a lot of options, especially for the older people who do not like to buy on the internet.
Which is probably why the insured didn’t have the Ferrari on his Mercury policy, and went to all the trouble to fabricate the rental company in order to file a non-owner claim. I’m guessing he wasn’t aware that the Mercury adjuster, like any adjuster worth his salt, would look to see what other collectible sources of recovery existed in order to put Mercury in an excess coverage position.
The insured is a cheating sleaze. CDI better not let him walk.
Yes, people would be surprised at what they can do when they investigate. The guy is asking for a ton of money and thinks this little ploy isn’t going to be investigated. I have seen a lot of smaller business owners try to sneakily add sports/luxury cars that are obviously personal cars to policies. Usually contractors, because I did a lot of them where I lived. A 1960’s sports car for a general contractor’s business use, right.
Not too bright linked up with sleazy attorney. Great combo.
And this guy is going to jail when?

what part of this article said ANYTHING about drugs? also, heroine is not a drug, you dummy.
This is interesting. I had an insured that purchased a ferrari two years ago and mercury said they didn’t insure ferraris.

Doesn’t surprise me. Mercury isn’t very good at paying claims when they are legitimate.
