Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property/casualty insurance and reinsurance, said Christopher Sparro is joining the company as executive vice president and chief executive officer of U.S. Insurance.
Sparro will be responsible for continuing to build the company’s U.S. product portfolio which currently offers professional, casualty, property and specialty covers.
Sparro was most recently president of Financial Lines for the Americas Region at American International group (AIG), where he built a network of wholesale and retail distribution partners across the U.S.
Sparro will be based in the Endurance’s New York City office, reporting to Jack Kuhn, CEO of Global Insurance.
Sparro joined AIG in 1990 and has since held several senior positions, including president of both the Middle Market and Corporate Divisions of Management Liability for National Union, zonal executive of the Greater New York Region, president of WorldSource, chief operating officer of the Americas and, most recently, president of Financial Lines for the Americas Region of AIG.
