The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (Big “I”) has promoted Jennifer McPhillips to vice president for federal government affairs.
McPhillips first joined the Big “I” team in 2006 after working for Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa). She has climbed the ranks at the association, serving as assistant vice president for federal government affairs and the group’s top Democrat lobbyist. Prior to that, she served as senior director of political affairs in charge of the association’s grassroots program and assisting with the management of its political action committee, InsurPac.
Charles Symington, Big “I” senior vice president for external and government affairs, said most recently McPhillips has worked on important legislative priorities including the National Flood Insurance Program and the Federal Crop Insurance Program.
