I’d say that was below the belt, UW. I have a million things to say about the Democrat candidate, very few of which are flattering. But I wouldn’t insult her entire voting base out of hand, no matter what my thoughts on her or them are.

Thanks for attempting to explain that Dustin, but I find it unbelievably hard to believe that “president-elect will only be called president once he is sworn into office” is considered anything-phobic, especially americaphobic.

that’s how our system works. who’s president now? Obama. when will Obama not be president? as soon as the next person is sworn into office.

A president can issue pardons for uncharged crimes (or any crimes for that matter) that MAY have been committed:

“Now, Therefore, I, Gerald R. Ford, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me…do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.”–Gerald R Ford

In addition, if we have to accept President Trump, which I wholeheartedly do, because he won the Electoral College and that is our process, the power for the president to pardon whoever he wants is also part of our process.

But, since we know the outcome of the election, here’s my guess as to the question posed; Trump will expedite the lawsuits by settling them or asking for summary judgements that will coerce the plaintiffs to settle abruptly or run the risk of prolonged litigation that benefits no one and subjects the plaintiff to greater scrutiny than if they took a reasonable settlement offer. DePolarBearables, that is not the case. Trivial as it may sound, we have only elected MOST of our electoral college representatives (Electors) at this time (some states have not finished as of yet). The Electors meet on December 19th to vote for the President and Vice President. Small distinction, but very important to our Democratic Republic.

She won the popular vote — and the Electoral College has until Dec. 19th to determine if Trump is fit to be president. Based on today’s news that Russia itself that Trump had been involved with Russia all during the campaign, it will be called into question — as Russian meddling in the campaign will be.

            The popular vote DOESN’T COUNT!

The EC system in place distorts voter turnout in states that are either deep red or deep blue. Hence, LIBERALS are clueless about what they speak. The popular vote stats are largely meaningless.

Pssst: why do liberals supporting Hillary pound the table now for using the popular vote, beyond their belief it would allow her to AGAIN CIRCUMVENT ESTABLISHED LAWS, but they were perfectly OK with the use of SUPER-DELEGATES and cheating by Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz during the RIGGED DEM Primary campaign? Two things can explain it: hypocrisy and their failure through support of a corrupt candidate propped up by a rigged primary system. Feel the Crash & BERN!

Actually you got that part wrong, the whole point of the electorate is make the vote more fair, and well until they improve the registration process for the populate I am comfortable with the electorate.

As Alexander Hamilton writes in “The Federalist Papers,” the Constitution is designed to ensure “that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” The point of the Electoral College is to preserve “the sense of the people,” while at the same time ensuring that a president is chosen “by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice.”

Your criminal thug will be in court numerous times before he is officially the president

        http://www.nydailynews.com/amp/news/politics/donald-trump-entangled-multiple-suits-president-article-1.2865975

        He’ll be the defendant-in-chief.

Just weeks after Donald Trump pulled off an implausible presidential victory, the President-elect is set to appear in court this month to defend himself against fraud allegations linked to his scandal-plagued Trump University.

The lawsuit is just one of many ensnaring Trump that will put him in the unprecedented position of defending himself in numerous civil courts while navigating his responsibilities in the White House, Politico reported.

The class action suit involving Trump University filed in a federal court in San Diego is set for trial on Nov. 28 before Trump will even be sworn in as the next President.

It is one of three suits against the beleaguered school, including one filed by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in 2013 calling it a “fraud from beginning to end” and accusing the mogul of cheating students out of up to $35,000 for real estate seminars.

New York regulators said the scheme often scammed senior citizens or those already in dire financial straits.

His Nov. 28 trial date in San Diego, Calif. will bring him in front of U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who Trump accused of being inherently “biased” because he falsely identified him as “Mexican.” The judge was born in Indiana.

In addition to the Trump University suit, there is also a New York state investigation into the Trump Foundation, which ordered the charitable organization to stop raising money in the state after they failed to properly register. Another federal investigation involves one of his closest aides, Paul Manafort, and his foreign business ties to Russia.

Trump and his numerous business have been entangled in more than 4,000 lawsuits in his three-decade career in real estate, a USA Today investigation found.

Donald Trump will appear in federal court in San Diego on Nov. 28 in one suit related to Trump University.

The litigious mogul could also be involved in suits in which he is the plaintiff. He has threatened to sue the 12 women who have come forward with allegations that Trump groped them and has taunted several news organization with defamation suits.

A request for comment from the Trump campaign was not immediately returned.

The Supreme Court ruled in 1997 that presidents aren’t immune from litigation over actions that occurred before taking office — the ruling was in response Trump’s former political rival’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, when Paula Jones sued for sexual harassment by to Paula Jones’s sexual harassment suit against former President Bill Clinton.

You need to learn the word alleged. Remember comrade we had a choice of to evils here, the only difference is Hillary was given 30 years to do something and all she managed was to make herself very rich by reportingly abusing her public office. (See how this works, you are not the judge and jury comrade) Is Trump any better? Time will tell; it certainly didn’t help Hillary’s cause but until he is judged by jury of his peers he is innocent until proven guilty. The rest was just blah blah blah based on your biased opinion.

Do “alleged” and “reported” have the same definition in your vocabulary?

So Donald is alleged to have done blah, blah, and he’s innocent until proven guilty.

And HRC is report to have blah, blah, and is in your eyes guilty?

Hillary was not in public office for 30 years by the way, and spent her time in the Senate during a Republican administration.

So you’re blaming HRC for the failings of the Bush administration.

Er, uh, I get your point….

Deplorables, plenty of good people voted for Hillary — in fact, more than Trump, being his deplorable self and all.

You imagine confidence that did not exist. It was always a close election. It was particularly sad to watch the corruption within the FBI ranks that shifted the election.

So, dearie, before you pat yourself on the back, be sure to take a good look around at your new defender in chief.

You would be very stupid to think that Trump wasn’t hacked by the Russians and Assange. Rather than release those, they will just blackmail Trump.

But again, you are too stupid to even think that far ahead.

The Russian’s hacking=espionage, WikiLeaks and FBI Tomey, Rudy Guiliani’s connection to the FBI, tipped the scale so badly that it was difficult for Hillary Clinton to have a chance. What good people? Apart from the Republican Congress interfering with so many investigations about emails!
Now we have a deplorable president elect: a man with no decency, a scumbag who ripped small businesses and employees, declared bankruptcies 6 times, started a scam called Trump University,a racist and bigot, one who would not release his taxes. What entanglements he has with Putin, China, and other countries, we do not know; unraveling this would be interesting; what is he hiding? America has lost its sense of decency, and class, and values. How can we set an example as the best democracy in the world when you have the most corrupt president-elect, with a do-nothing congress, which could have worked deals to make this country far better than it is today. How graciously President Obama agreed to the peaceful transfer of power! How nobly he carried himself for 8 years, despite the racial and vindictive acts of the Republican Congress. America first, not Donald TrumP

Listen, I wish Drumpf success, I really do. I don’t want to see him hurt the country. We can’t afford another recession and the financial world is suggesting there may be another one on the rise. He’s going to be our President. I’m not some right wing obstructionist just because I believe the wrong candidate won. I swallowed pride and supported others I have disagreed with before, too. And, we’ve always survived. But, I will continue to be critical and I pray he doesn’t take action to further injure our minority brothers and sisters, the LGBTQ community, and those less financially fortunate. I also pray he doesn’t place us in another war or expand on the ones we are in. And, anyone who voted thinking he’s actually going to build a wall, I mean, c’mon! Hence, my sledgehammer comment.

DC, the more I study the aftermath of this election, the more I realize that Trump was the only Republican who could have pulled it off. None of the other professional politicians would have the spine to stand up to the Hilliary juggernaut campaign and would have gone the way of Romney. He took a lot of heat for that, but he did appeal to the people sick and tired of Progressive rule and the arrogance and dishonesty of the worst Presidential candidate in the history of the US. We came very close to losing this country as we have known it. Draining the swamp is just the first step in the recovery process.

    Ashley, how does this follow?

“Clinton’s attorneys argued that in all but the most exceptional cases any litigation against the President should be deferred until he left office. But the Supreme Court disagreed.”

“So, while the President can be sued while in office for things done outside of the job, any court would likely stay the case until the end of his or her term.”

It would seem that the opposite should be true.

As a business litigation attorney, my view is that while Trump is involved in numerous litigation, this hopefully will not be a huge interference. There are some that are politically motivated, and former presidents have dealt with their fair share. With the number of businesses Trump is involved in, it is understandable that breach of contract, corporate, real estate, investment and securities litigation lawsuits be ongoing.
