Is homeowners insurance the right forum for this type of coverage?
If yes, should all homeowners have to pay for personal actions based on a few “high profile” law suits?
We have already been down this path before with ubiquitous “mold” in CA.
Stop the liberalization of unrelated coverage forcing insurance agents to probe for additional underwriting info and the mass of clients rates to increase.
Enough is enough!!
In the paragraph above Mr. Cosby’s picture it says homeowners policies typically cover “personal” injuries such as falling, a fall is considered BODILY INJURY. This was an incorrect statement. In the insurance business bodily injury is strictly physical injuries to the body. PERSONAL injury is OTHER than bodily injuries to the INDIVIDUAL such as libel, slander, unlawful arrest, defaming ones character, invading privacy, to name a few. Just some clarification from a 30 year insurance professional.
Lastly, homeowners policies cover BODILY INJURY, but not all, yes most do cover PERSONAL INJURY. Sometimes you need to add or endorse a homeowners policy with PERSONAL INJURY.
