What is sad is that our government singled out Volkswagen for an emmission matter, that to my knowledge had not been shown to cause a single injury or death. The government demanded VW offer to repurchase all of the defective vehicles, and pay huge amounts of compensation to the purchasers.

Meanwhile, although having full knowledge of the injuries and deaths caused by the defective airbags, our government has not demanded that a single one of the affected cars and trucks be removed from the roads until repairs are completed. The car manufacturers who selected Takata components, and the dealers who profited from selling the vehicle should be required to immediately recall the affected vehicles and either repurchase them or provide safe rental vehicles until they complete adequate repairs.
