So I was at a Boston Market yesterday, and the guy cutting up the chicken kept harassing the young man who was working the counter. Should he be fired now because maybe he will turn his harassing into violence? And if Boston Market fired the guy, then he would sue them for something like discrimination or whatever.
It is getting ridiculous.
According to the article this supervisor had a known history of harassment. This being said what we don’t know is the extent of his history, how much upper management was aware of, or what complaints were made by the victim to management.
If management was aware of complaints and failed to do nothing I can definitely see how a court would allow a negligence suit. If it were your daughter being treated like that from her supervisor would you still feel that pursuit of negligence against a major employer was ridiculous? Should someone facing this type of situation be forced to either deal with the actions of their supervisor or quit?
The court didn’t decide that Home Depot was at fault but rather gives the family an opportunity to prove their case. It’s for the court to decide based on facts not provided to us in this article.
The fact is an employer can be sued by an employee regardless if the a dismissal was just or not.
Correct Jack. We live in a very angry society now. By the way, WC death benefits would have kicked in to survivors of this death. I don’t know how an employer could read the mind of any employee on whether they have murder on their mind.

I’ll never so much as enter the parking lot of a Home Depot again. Call me extreme, but show me a recent example another national public company that allows this kind person to supervise vulnerable employees who are trying to eke out a living for their families.
A woman I’ve known for years with all kinds of designations who put in many many years of professional effort and dedication to the industry ended up working at Home Depot out of desperation. She was looking for work when she was in her mid-50’s and could not get a job in the industry. As soon as she was eligible for health insurance, they laid her off. I have avoided Home Depot ever since.

This is crazy, if you look into that supervisors record and talk to his co workers you will see she was not the only one. the managers abuse their power and sex and abuse their employees. They just plain dont care, with hundreds of applications daily, they know your disposable. But to kill a pregnant woman and then raping her corpse, your dealing with a insane individual and how he got to be in position of power is just unexplained.
I haven’t set foot in a Home Depot store in several years because they support and CELEBRATE the queer lifestyles of the LGBTQ communities. It’s not surprising that they would turn their backs on and allow this type of behavior. Any company that believes it’s okay for men to prey on children to satisfy their perverted lusts deserves to be boycotted.
