So McCain, who supported a clueless idiot in Palin, thought Trump was colluding with a foreign power too, and was too dangerous to be president, and that’s the fault of liberals (sad, know nothing loser stll using the tired “libiteral” insult)?

The president can’t use an EO to repeal the supposed Congressional exemption, it’s written law. Yeah, we know you don’t care about the will of the people, democracy, the rule of law, or the country so you think laws should be made by 1 person, as long as you agree with them.

Why don’t you just come out and support a fascist dictator if it gives you your tax cuts? Is obviously what you want.

BTW, we can officially put to rest that you have zero credibility. You stated multiple times you were going to Washington, had inside sources and knew all about this great bill but couldn’t reveal info. Just like your alleged statistics degree, you lied, because that’s what you do. You are a clueless liar.

      Kick rocks, delete your account.

UW – You didn’t seem to upset with Obama issuing EO’s pertaining to Obamacare. Now all of a sudden you want the president to follow the Constitution.

…And who is the hypocrite that laws should be made by one person, as long as you agree with them???

And speaking of clueless, McCain fell into the democratic, left wing media trap in trying to “get” Trump.

Integrity, provide one quote where I said I have no problem with Obama EOs on Obamacare, same for me consistently supporting Obama violating the Constitution, absent that apologize and STFU. Lying conservatives cannot do anything but lie, create positions they say others hold, and then argue against those.

I know by definition as a modern American conservative you do not, and cannot know about policy. The “exemption” from Congress is EXPLICITLY WRITTEN INTO LAW. EOs have to do with how the federal government will interpret laws. It can be used to effectively negate laws by not enforcing them, but in this case can not remove the exemption, because it’s not written in a manner that is left open to interpretation. That is giving you and Yogi the benefit of the doubt and pretending you know what you are talking about and are making serious proposals. You aren’t. Also to remove the exemption would be a budget item, which cannot be done through reconciliation in Congress, and I know this is news to you, but the president cannot unilaterally add and subtract to the budget.

By left wing trap do you mean the 80%+ that were against this bill or the 60%+ that don’t approve of Trump? Idiots.

The founding fathers were so wise, they actually took a breath to chuckle between saying, “All men are created equal”, and “but, slavery is totally cool.”

Some of them were great men, but by and large they were just regular men, folks. Robber-barons, trust fund brats, habitual liars, smugglers, con-men, and so on. We don’t remember that, because we want to romanticize these guys as being pure and 100% dignified by the righteous and noble pursuit of freedom. They were just as self-serving then as politicians looking for kickbacks and bribes are today.

The made a process for the people to be run as efficiently as possible, without allowing for full on democracy to crush the republic, and checks and balances to change what need be.

Uh, pretty good? Many, many things have been verified from the Steele Dossier. The pee-pee tape is a minor kink aspect of it. A lot of the juicy stuff is the reason why officials started to look closer at the corruption and ineptitude and most likely compromised nature of the whole campaign.

You think Sessions would have recused himself over nothing? With the whole government under GOP control? Get real.

Not to mention Manafort and Flynn being FOREIGN AGENTS while also apparently trying to help LEAD THIS COUNTRY. Then, you have the rest of the mountain of evidence that you can conveniently ignore.

You don’t have a leg to stand on, which is why instead of refuting my points, you will either:

        or

b)just insult me, then still go to your happy place, where liberals, scientists, news agencies, and logic can’t reach you.

It’s no wonder why so many Southern Conservatives worship Trump: they were already worshiping traitors from their past, they might as well do it with present-day ones, as well. “The South will rise again, Praise General Lee, Hallelujah!”

Also, the BBC reporter Paul Wood reported that he had contacted a high up source in Eastern European intelligence before the Steele Dossier was released that independently said there was indeed a pee tape they were aware of, and 2 CIA sources independently confirmed it and told him there were multiple sex tapes. They didn’t report the story because the reporter had not seen the tape and they wanted to play it safe. Almost eerything from the dossier is being confirmed. They are criminals, Republicans don’t care.

Of all the decent Republicans that I know, almost zero like Trump, their representatives, members of congress on either side, or many of the policies they espouse. For them, it was all about the Supreme Court pick, which the Republicans in Congress obstructed.

What a sham that the public at large has completely forgotten how a president was denied his right to pick a justice by congress for a full year. They turned a multi-century tradition into partisan politics. I guarantee Yogi, Agent, and bobbo were all for it, too, but are the same ones complaining that the minority party wouldn’t vote for their abomination of a “health care bill”

The problem with voting for Supreme Court picks is, you end up with crap like Trump and so on in hopes they pick a decent human being.

Gorsuch seems like just another run of the mill conservative judges, and obviously not the devil incarnate like many Dems would have the public believe, but it should never have been Trumps or Clinton’s pick to make. The decent thing, which is rarely spoken when dealing with Republican politicians, would have been to hold hearings about Merrick Garland, and if he didn’t pass muster: don’t confirm him. Would it have been that hard?

At this point, it’s not a liberal or conservative issue. Most of us just want a President that can do his job. A leader. Trump can’t lead and this is the textbook example of the Peter Principle. The great experiment where we elect a wealthy non politician deal maker who makes outrageous promises is rapidly coming to an end. He’s an embarrassment and most of Washington knows it. We were so desperate that we were willing to overlook his boorish campaign rallies, name calling & p*ssy grabbing, and his poor knowledge of history & world events. You know something N & B, you could have beat Hilary Clinton in this race.

Excuse me, SWFL, but this is NOT Trumps fault. He is trying to fix the Obamacare nightmare that the DEMOCRATS shoved down our throats. Repubs and Dem’s, both, do not like Trump calling there DC home a samp or cesspool, and are making it as difficult as possible to allow him to succeed. Those of us that are smart enough to see through this BS are only emboldened more to vote out the cesspool rats in upcoming elections, until we actually get people who care about the Constitution and not about getting re-elected.

And one more thing…At least Trump has the balls to stand up to the other countries, unlike Obama, who foolishly “lead from behind”. Obama caused our country to lose respect throughout the world and Trump is in the process of restoring it. Get over how he does it because it’s been effective so far.

Th3 vote in the Senate may not be President Trump’s fault, but here are some theings for which he should be held to account:
          1. He promised the get things done because he is the ultimate deal maker.
          2. He promised to repeal the PPACA on day one and replace it on day 2 and that is will be soooo easy.
          3. He said he has a great plan that will cover everybody, regardless of your ability to pay, and is much less expensive.
          4. He has lobbed personal insults to anyone who has gone against him.
          5. He praised the House vote to pass the ACHA, then called the legislation mean.
          6. He said he would label China currency manipulators, then changed his mind when he was inaugurated. Presumably to encourage them to stop North Korea. China has expressed zero interest in doing anything about North Korea.

Our president is a con man who is using Jedi mind tricks. Since they only work on the weak-minded, it says a lot about those who continue to blindly follow and defend this man.

integrity, how about a definition for the day?

            Liberal – Noun

A person whose rigid ideology dictates what other people are allowed to think.

Does that about sum it up? They do like to dictate, don’t they and cannot accept opinions of others who disagree with them. This rigid ideology is taught in college by liberal professors. If they don’t get their way, they scream and holler and throw a fit. Trump won and they just can’t accept it. America First, MAGA

            Agent,

I think you need to add the following to the definition..

They are open to diversity, except when the diverse person or group has a differing opinion. They accept others opinions provided they are consistent with their own. Opposing views are typically met with hatred, name calling and violence. Liberals rarely accept responsibility for their own actions and usually blame others or claim they are victims.

“Repeal and Replace” was never about improving the nation’s health care. It was simply another attempt in Trump’s mind to destroy Obama’s legacy. It would be far simpler to revise the ACA by taking its good points and building on it but then it would still be called “Obamacare” and that would not fly with this administration. I am not a fan of Obama’s politics but I would like to see a health care law that helped the most U.S. citizens – whatever you want to name it.

Live in the now. They can’t even agree on the ‘skinny repeal’ in 2017. Who cares what they have done in years past? None of that matters today when they have majorities in all three branches of the government and, with Democrats being unable to fillibuster their agenda, they still can’t reach an agreement with themselves to enact something they’ve been shouting about for more than half a decade.

With 3 branches of gov’t, NOW is the time for Republicans to show this country they can govern and pass meaningful legislation.

Vern’s statement…”“Repeal and Replace” was never about improving the nation’s health care. It was simply another attempt in Trump’s mind to destroy Obama’s legacy.”… is either a lie or he is grossly misinformed.

Obama’s “legacy” was destroyed the moment that legislation was passed and when the lies were revealed about how it got passed. Trump had nothing to do with that, but in true and consistent form, the left continues to shift blame to others, just like their leader, Obama, did.

“The GOP having all three houses of government is not fake news.”

Doesn’t matter, barring a super majority, due to how bills come to floor.

“The GOP not being able to repeal is not fake news.”

This is because the democrats won’t allow for the typical process, so they are using reconciliation to by pass the 60 vote area which could be blocked, and democrats have confirmed it will. There are limits then on what they can do. I’ll go over this in the next section specifically since it applies better.

“The GOP not having a cohesive plan after 7 years is not fake news.”

YES IT IS. This is the first one that is truly fake news, due to parts of what I said I would go over above. They CAN’T present the bills the presented before, because they are going through a DIFFERENT PROCESS to pass the bill, because democrats are blocking the typical route. They presented three bills alongside the ACA, they presented more than 5 since then. At this point, the cannot present those through reconciliation. And now the democrats are saying it means they have no plan, because the republicans are working with what they have, which in this case, is stone walling, and don’t come back to me with a “they did it too” phrase, which is where I’m sure this will go. The fact is the republicans have no route forward to make a good bill, and 3 republicans are saying that’s not good enough.

“The GOP imploding is not fake news.”

Quite the contrary, your side is doing all they can to stop the right.

“And, no, MSNBC did not have to tell me that. It is just freaking obvious”

For Trump, this has never been about improving our health-care system. Trump, who visibly had no idea how the ACA works or what was in the various GOP replacements, and who openly said he would sign whatever Republicans put in front of him, just wanted to boast of a “win” while triumphantly using Barack Obama’s signature domestic achievement as his own personal toilet paper roll. It’s fitting that President Trump reacted to the epic collapse of the GOP repeal-and-replace push by vowing to keep up his campaign to sabotage the Affordable Care Act. “Let Obamacare implode, then deal,” Trump tweeted, meaning the administration should continue undermining the law, to force Democrats to the table to … well, it’s not clear what he wants from them, but it is clear is that he will continue sabotaging the ACA out of sheer rage and spite. / Trump’s threat to keep sabotaging the ACA, however, could actually still end up hurting a lot of people. There are plenty of tools that the administration can employ to keep sabotaging the individual markets and the ACA. I don’t know if Trump will make good on these threats. But the important point is that the openly stated goal here is to hurt our health-care system — which would hurt real people — in service of an end that Trump has not articulated. Because he has no interest in understanding what challenges the ACA and our health system face, he has no idea what any “deal” with Democrats would look like. His only discernible goal is to force Democrats to capitulate to him in some vague way

        Dennis,

I respectfully disagree with your assessment of Trump’s motives. While he has said he has his pen ready to sign whatever (a position I oppose), it is under the auspices of it will be better than Obamacare.

I have a similar problem with that approach because it is not a simple fix. Anything short of a complete repeal and replacement with a new law, will likely meet the same fate if it has similar “gov’t fix features” and leaves the private market with tied hands and unable to create a true competitive alternative.

I suspect Trump is relying on the Congressman’s expertise to “do the right thing”, which is naïve.

The alleged “tools” you speak of are costly and only prolongs the inevitable of Obamacares failure. Whether you believe it or not, Obamacare was designed to fail. That would usher in a govt run, single payer system.

The Democrats are finally admitting it needs fixing, but they continue to be obstinate and want “their solutions” to continue with the same entitlement problems, which is unsustainable.

Republicans should stop making arguments against the ACA or stop trying to move our health-care system in a conservative direction. Indeed, a genuinely bipartisan approach to reforming our health-care system could end up giving Republicans some deregulatory measures in exchange for GOP help in shoring up the exchanges and a GOP acceptance of the ACA’s coverage expansion. Some Republican health wonks are now calling on their party to adopt a similar approach. But for this to happen, we would all have to proceed from shared agreement that this coverage expansion — one fostered by government — has actually helped enormous numbers of people, even if it isn’t in the manner that Republicans had hoped.

        Dennis,

Can you define what you mean by “move our healthcare system in a conservative direction”?

It seems to me that the Republicans are trying to:
        1. Change the law so that people have the right to choose whether they want to buy healthcare for themselves or not, which is an example of liberty. (Does anyone see the irony that democrats fight for the right of a mother to choose whether she wants to abort her child, but FORCES her buy insurance to pay for it.)
        2. Make healthcare more affordable for the people.
        3. Reduce the taxpayer burden to pay for those that cannot afford it.

Is that a conservative direction? Where is the problem with any of that?

The gov’t roll in this process should be reduced to:
        1. Establishing laws to allow the free market forces to create alternative coverage plans that are affordable and meet the needs of MOST people. I say MOST because it is impossible to meet everyone’s needs.
        2. Be a TEMPORARY backstop for those that cannot afford healthcare in the private market. Temporary until they can help themselves.
        3. Establish laws to incentivize employers to provide quality healthcare coverage for their employees.
        4. Possibly establish laws to incentivize wealthy individuals to “adopt” a medicaid recipient. The Warren Buffets, Bill Gates and Hollywood elitists would have an avenue to “put up or shut up” without forcing the burden onto the middle class.

Above all else, folks, remember: Obamacare doesn’t force anyone to buy health insurance. Never has happened. You do avoid paying a tax by having health insurance, but there is nobody forcing anyone to carry health insurance.

And anyone whose premium would be more than, I believe, 8% of their income gets it for free… Then there are several low cost crappy options above that threshold before the insane-o premiums that people always tout start going into effect.

First: You’re not hip! You’re not a teenager anymore. This reminds me of Mean Girls with Gretchen saying “That’s so fetch!”. You’re not going to make fetch happen, you’re not as cool as you think you are, for throwing those comments in (or rather as good and superior as you think you are)

        Leave the conservatives here alone.

I’m sick of your side’s harassment, and it definitely is why people voted Trump and why the country is on the verge of collapse. Self reflect or see the country collapse…Your choice buddy.

Was I saying something politically incorrect or mean?

Twice in a row my comments have been deleted from the bottom of this thread.

bobbo says the country is on the verge of collapse, all the while it is Republicans manning the wheel. Could it be that they have no concept of leadership? That some of them actively wish for the destruction of the posts they helm?

Incompetence or malevolence, I can’t tell.

Leaving the conservatives here alone would be to support deliberate ignorance, and I can’t do that.

Liberal positions, or things going against Yogi are generally deleted, some things against Bob’s positions are deleted. Few conservative positions are deleted and almost n no racism, sexism, calls to violence or personal threats (against liberals) are deleted.

Yogi told a poster he was going to have IT track them down then said what kind of browser they were using (according to the person), then said they would be blocking Tor, which IJ did about a week later. When the person (Actu, I think) brought it up the blog moderator openly mocked them and said if they had a problem to call the police, despite a link to the threats being posted. You decide what’s going on, and why 90% of the intelligent people have left while Agent, Yogi, and a handful of others, with the exact same ideology stay and insult, lie, and threaten people, with no repercussions.
