Any discerning elementary school student would be laughed out of their classroom if they tried to use ClimateDepot.com as a trustworthy source.
Just look at that page for 10 seconds: Banner ads with half-naked women. A website called ClimateHustle.com being advertised talking about hoaxes and frauds, etc. and then the content of the article sources all the sorts of crazy right-wing conspiracy sites.
Seriously, source some vetted scientists not funded by fossil fuel companies and we will talk. Source how each of the last 4 years have been the hottest years on record (137) and the hottest years in thousands of years.
Source something that refutes how increased CO2 levels have always correlated to temperature increases and then how that magically won’t correlate this time around now that they are higher than they have ever been in thousands and thousands of years.
The internet gives us this amazing access to unlimited knowledge, but it has convinced the layman that he is as well-versed and that his opinions somehow refute scientific fact.

Far warmer in the 1930’s when we had the famous dust bowl era. All record highs go back to then and we had far fewer people, far less industry during the depression. He blamed Paramount for sabotaging it. Can’t believe they actually had another movie produced.

** yawn ** the planet is warming – but the ‘who is at fault’ part is very much in need of more scientific investigation and less of Al Gore pointing his uninformed finger at everyone but Al Gore.
Decaying plant and animal matter creates more ozone depleting gases than does mankind at about a 10 – 1 ratio every year. A volcanic eruption of some consequence, belches more destructive gases, poisons, etc. in to the atmosphere than anything and everything man has ever, in total, managed to do.
That doesn’t mean that humans haven’t and aren’t contributing to the ozone’s demise because we have and we are. And it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try to do more to reduce that amount, because we should. Our ozone is very fragile/ we can’t fix it/ and if we continue to lose it at the current rate, our planet will not be inhabitable. Not by humans, anyway.
So you and I could both choose to ride a bike and that would help, but until the ‘WORLD’ decides we have to do something about it, I’ll keep driving because China, Russia and numerous other countries aren’t doing anything to help and they are doing a lot….a whole f’ing lot to hurt our planet. Until they get on board……we run the risk of our ‘Blue Planet’ becoming another ‘Red Planet’.

Volcanoes, which you describe as one eruption equating to outdoing all of what man has been able to do in the history of ever is the most unscientific thing I have read in a long time. I don’t say that to be mean or demeaning, but volcanic activity on a yearly basis is a fraction of the pollution caused by cars, factories, and power plants. A fraction.
You agree that our Ozone layer is fragile, and that the possibilities of Earth becoming inhabitable is a very real eventual possibility, but are not willing to get behind strict climate laws to actually make a difference? Is it a money thing? Because if we don’t take it upon ourselves each and every one of us to fix because we are too busy pointing the finger at China for not doing their share, then we can all have fun dealing with the effects of climate change. And if not us, than our children and children’s children.
Oh yeah, and China? They are BY FAR the biggest producer and user of renewable energy in the world. They do pollute a ton, but they are taking more active steps than anyone to build renewable energy into their grid.

There is absolutely something each individual can do about climate change, and it’s not buying an electric car or recycling. The major contributor to carbon gas emission is from agricultural production for meat. Reduction in your personal intake in meat and moving toward more of a plant-based diet will not only improve your health, but reduce carbon emissions. Did you know that, “Ruminants such as cattle were responsible for 47 percent of production-related greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector.” Agriculture contributes to more green-house gas emissions than the entire transportation sector.
In addition to this, forests and trees (Trees that take in carbon and produce oxygen)are being plowed down to create more land-grazing for more cattle and adding to the problem of carbon reduction.
