Not sure I want to place my life in the hands of a sensor which might fail. I also don’t trust other drivers in autonomous cars whose sensors may fail and run over me. By the way, what choices will an automated car make? Run over someone or take to the ditch and possibly kill the passengers in their car.
All these technological breakthroughs are great. However, what if the technology fails and drivers can not react because they get used to not paying attention. Also beeping and flashing warnings are very annoying and most drivers still want to speed because they are in a hurry. So the future self driving vehicles will make the experience of driving very much less exciting and the car companies are going to have a hard time selling cars that are not exciting to drive. This equals less cars per capita.
They would help if all cars came with standard hands free texting without making people pay extra for it. It’s the extra cost that turns people away. I have this feature and absolutely love it and I pay extra but worth it for me. But I get what you’re saying.. There’s always going to be someone who doesn’t follow the rules…
Newer cars come with text by voice but unfortunately, the make you pay extra. I have it and worth it for me but it should come standard on all cars! It would help…
Now if the automated systems could prevent people from texting and driving we could prevent the rest of the crashes.
