DC is very good at “after the fact” debating and posturing. (DC is also good at super heroes too).
This is another example of how the government is bad at business. They should sell AMTRACK to the private sector and watch it grow.

Selling the train to a private sector would’ve stopped the driver from traveling 50MPH over the speed limit???

quite possibly since they are accountable.

so the gov’t can’t be held liable for the negligent actions of their employees anymore?

DNC, sure looks like the former administration is being held accountable for their misdeeds currently. Let the indictments begin if we can get our little pip squeak DOJ off his rear end.

The current administration is being held accountable for their misdeeds currently. The indictments have already begun.

I was just going to say, the next accident will stir safety debates too as did the one before this.

drug abuse by engineers or other personnel. Internet searches are EASY to do.

There may be no need to stir further debates if GOVT OWNED railroad train engineers weren’t stirring drinks at the time of crashes. Causes of past crashes includes engineers abusing drugs and alcohol. One recent incident involved an engineer whose drug tests were concealed from publication…. I forgot how the investigation concluded, if it has yet been resolved.

Engineers are paid to do their job and do it safely, not do drugs or play on their cell phones. This is the second big accident where the train was going at an excessive speed for the conditions. Idiotic.
