CNA announced three leadership appointments within the company’s Commercial Insurance organization.
Michael Kirchgessner has been appointed to senior vice president, Underwriting for Large/Complex Casualty business. In this role, Kirchgessner will be responsible for implementing underwriting strategies for CNA’s Large/Complex Casualty business, and will report to Kevin Leidwinger, president and chief operating officer, CNA Commercial. Kirchgessner has been vice president for Umbrella underwriting since 2012 when he joined CNA from ACE.
Chris Thurman has been appointed to senior vice president, Underwriting for Workers’ Compensation. In this role, Thurman will lead the strategic direction for the Workers’ Compensation product line, and will report to Julie Stephenson, Commercial chief underwriting officer. Thurman has been with CNA since 2008.
Kelly Walsh has been appointed to senior vice president, Underwriting for General Liability. In this role, Walsh will manage the strategic direction of CNA’s General Liability product line, and will also report to Stephenson. Walsh has been with CNA since 2005 and most recently served as vice president of Branch Services.
