Alfa Insurance has promoted Beth Chancey to senior vice president of the company’s Property & Casualty Operations effective Feb. 1. She will be responsible for P/C underwriting, actuarial services, billing and distribution services.
Chancey replaces Tommy Coshatt, who was previously promoted to executive vice president of operations following the recent retirement of Steve Rutledge.
Chancey is a 30-year veteran of Montgomery, Alabama-based Alfa. She joined the Alfa staff in 1988 and was named manager of Homeowners’ Underwriting in 1995. She was promoted to vice president of Property and Commercial Underwriting in 2000 before being asked to lead Alfa’s combined P/C Underwriting team in 2014.

Alfa and its affiliates write in 11 states. Alfa Life Insurance Co. currently has $27 billion in force, and Alfa’s property/casualty companies service more than one million policies.
