Zurich North America Names Labbat to Head Trade Credit and Political Risk

Zurich North America has named Lillian Labbat as head of Trade Credit and Political Risk.

Prior to joining Zurich, Labbat held executive roles in global trade finance, export finance and structured credit with J.P. Morgan, BNP Paribas and Citigroup. Her most recent role was managing partner and co-founder of Metis Markets, a financial advisory firm. with a focus on fundraising and structured finance solutions for global businesses. She has experience in both financing and insurance, working with brokers, official agencies and global customers.

Labbat will be accountable for the direction, management and performance of the Trade Credit and Political Risk unit, which is part of Specialty Products in North America Commercial Insurance. She will have responsibility for the political risk and single risk trade credit underwriting teams in the Americas, London, Continental Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Zurich Trade Credit and Political Risk provides political risk and trade credit insurance for financial institutions, multinational corporations, investors, exporters, contractors and infrastructure developers globally.

Labbat will be based in New York and report to Brian Winters, head of Specialty Products, North America Commercial Insurance.
