In other news Jake from State Farm brought the judge’s dad to the hearing and had him in the audience. You know, for support. He was quick to approve the settlement.

typical of our judicial system ,when it involves big corporations paying a fee / penalty to evade
prosecution …….its all about the money . To a agent / broker with E & O its a fight and likely his license is terminated / suspended with prison time.

Il needs the money so they may as well take it from one of their largest employers.
Why not drive another one out of state?

State Farm is headquartered in Illinois, who leads the nation in corruption. Good to see Dead Fish is leaving the scene. What a joke he was as mayor.

State Farm has a new HQ being constructed in Phoenix area. Bloomington is all but empty.

That’s a regional office. They aren’t moving to Phoenix and they still have something like 20,000 employees in Bloomington. Not a small number.

They enlarged and added a lot of employees in the DFW area as well.

Paying $250 million is better than losing $7 Billion on Personal Auto in 2017.

Except that this money doesn’t go to the state of Illinois and the attorney in the case is from Arkansas. State Farm is denying they did anything wrong, but you don’t fork out $250 million if you are completely innocent.

So, how does this equate? The original award was $456 Million, they appealed and it was dismissed….then it was revived and now they agree to pay $250 Million to make it go away?! They reduced their payout by $206 Million….I just shake my head.

Yeah, got a check today for the same amount … agree with Jeff … thanks for the free money. I wonder how much the attorneys pocketed out of this … they usually get a bundle.
