She was a fierce opponent of adding and Equal Rights Amendment to the constitution. I would think they would welcome a change in association with the name…
Who cares? (Did the Insurance Journal pick this article, which has nothing to do with insurance at all, because it had the word ‘conservative’ in it? Because people like beer?)
We ran this story thinking some readers who write/sell commercial lines might be interested in the trademark and intellectual property aspect. The fact that Schlafly, a well-known surname, was involved and was found to qualify for trademark status makes it somewhat unusual. We have run other trademark stories involving Bob Dylan, Hershey’s, The Eagles, Carl’s Jr., and the Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, which you probably remember. Occasionally there are comments on insurance coverage, defense, intentional infringement, etc. issues. We typically publish more than 30 stories a day. We assume those who do not care about one simply proceed to another.
Sure, Andrew. Let me know when you print a single story about recent science that discredits any liberal cause. You know, a story that says Climate Change isn’t as scary as it has been made out to be instead of every article that says it is all do “dire”. Or one that points out how stupid it is to try to solve Climate Change using tax credits for liberals or roof-top solar, two things that serious scientists scoff at. How about one that explains why Germany’s EnergieWende is a disaster; that would be useful to educate the public about failed efforts to solve Climate Change.
When I moved to StL, my office was located right across the street from Schlafly’s Tap Room. At no time, until this lawsuit was filed, did I associate the horrible Phyllis Schlafly with the wonderfully made beer of the Tap Room.

Liberal hoax. Everyone knows beer isn’t real.
That’s how you sound.

Just write your own articles Craig. As far as citing any study or research simply add it came from you gut.
Hey craig,
This article isn’t about climate change. If you dislike the Insurance Journal so much, why do you spend as much time on it as you do?
