Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Daniel Vetter as head of Excess & Surplus North America, a newly-created role.
Vetter will be responsible for the strategy and growth of the company’s E&S Property and Casualty business, as well as for establishing a Financial & Professional lines team within the unit.
Based in New York, Vetter will oversee dedicated sales and underwriting teams across the region.
Ivan Gonzalez, CEO North America, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, noted that the firm created its standalone E&S unit less than a year ago and Vetter will not only help grow that but also build a Financial & Professional Lines offering.
Vetter brings more 20 years of insurance experience to this role. Since joining Swiss Re in 2000, he has held various underwriting leadership positions, both with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and its predecessor organizations. Most recently, Vetter was head of Casualty, where he was instrumental in steering the global portfolio leading the build-out of Corporate Solutions’ Primary insurance capabilities.
