Oops! Exclude the post by Agency in regard to the ‘other posts’ I mentioned above. bear culpa.

Interestingly, there are also exactly 19 downvotes on Agency’s post, which matches the down vote count on my initial post in this comment page.

No, there just is no sense in arguing with individuals who will never see the truth for what it is.
It doesn’t take a scientist to realize that something is clearly different than it was 30 years ago. 30 years ago, we were getting snowfalls of a half-foot to a foot in November on a regular basis every year. Now it seems that those same snowfalls aren’t coming until January. It was once every 5 years that there wasn’t a White Christmas, now it’s once every 5 years that it is. You can argue on the cause (as there are likely multiple causes), but to insist that it’s not happening is just pure ignorance. And to argue that it’s not at least partially human-caused is willful ignorance. And until you see that and admit it to yourself, it’s not worth arguing with you about it. That is all I will say to you about it.

I’m old enough to remember how global cooling was a crises. When the earth didn’t cool then it was changed to global warming. Well the earth’s temperature has been very stable. Now it’s climate change in 30 years 50 years in the future so they can’t be called out in their lies. This is total confidence trick, the largest in human history for the purpose is to get power and gain. These people must be defeated. They want nothing more than to control you and steal your money.

If the issue and concerns over climate change were coming from a single government source or even country, I could except the “do nothing” premise. But the concern over climate change is coming from many sources and the concern is rising and rightfully so. As humans, we have only one place to live … planet earth, and the physical evidence shows that things are a changing. I ice-caps are melting at an increasing rate, seas are rising, there are large land areas were crops will no longer grow, we are polluting the oceans and land, and the incidences of “Cancer” are growing and only seems to affect the human race. At some point in the future, we will reach a tipping point and there will be no way to fix the problems we face with climate change, and the human race will just go extinct. It has happened before and it will happen again. Today, there is no physical evidence of any other life in the universe, and with all of the science and technology that we have in use today, we have yet to identify any other planet on which humans can live and we have yet to be able to detect any other life forms in the universe. Planet earth is the only place on which the human race has evolved and can live. If we do not take care of what we have, or have been given, the human race will just go way. There is a reason why we are alone in the Universe, and it our choice to survive, continue to evolve and take care of our only future …

Man, that sounds real scary. What’s your solution?

So far, China and India and all the other rapidly developing countries aren’t listening to you or the Doom and Gloomers, and their CO2 production is exploding.

Meanwhile, US emissions have gone DOWN due to a shift from coal to natural gas (yay fracking and free enterprise!).

Many climate scientists believe that without nuclear power on a massive scale, there is no way to stop the damage to come. And if you are honest, you know who is against nuclear power: the religious Climate Zealots. (50% of French power comes from nuclear, allowing them to preen about their purity.)

So, let me know what solutions you have besides higher taxes and energy prices on poor people.

One expression I feel Mankind must take to heart in order to not go extinct is:
We DO NOT own the Earth. We are BORROWING it from our Grandchildren.

Destroying your home is not the answer no matter which way you slice it. We literally are destroying our home in the name of imaginary money! You can’t take it with you when you die. All of the life on Earth is connected. From the ‘invisible’ bacteria… all the way to the Humans on top. We need ALL of the creatures on earth to survive. It’s a delicate balance and right now the cancer on earth (humans) is just slowly killing it’s own entire species trying to only better mankind. Sadder yet, is that they’ll step on any creature to accomplish this goal.

Regardless of the impact in climate, do people really think putting chemicals, poisons and toxins into our ground, water and air is worth a extra dollars in profit? We should keep researching and implementing less damaging methods to produce energy and products, even if it is more expensive in the short term. Some things are priceless.

Rob, I think his credibility was shot many times. Like when he stated Singapore’s health system was/is an example to follow. From a Floridian’s viewpoint I’ll tell you one thing Obama did that was fantastic – he eliminated the wet foot / dry foot policy for Cubans. When’s the last time you saw a news story about Cuban’s losing they life in a small raft or boat. This proves that we can make changes to immigration policy that work. Trump wasn’t off base when he stated our immigration policies make no sense.

The reasons businesses exist is solely for profit-making. If they don’t make a profit, they aren’t in business. So, yes, it is a primary objective. If they could make more profit being more green-conscious, they would do so. It is that simple.

I agree with you regarding the reason to be in business, but at what cost to the environment? If they need to pollute in order to make a profit, should they even be in business?

            Maybe it’s not that simple.

Google it and watch in amazement. It was on a couple of weeks ago. The guy found the Holy Grail for climate science, a way to extract the sugars from plants, meaning all the plants that grow and die all over the planet.

The challenge had been that the sugars in nearly all plants are “locked” in the plant cells in a way that made it impossible to extract in a cost-effective way. Scientists know that if they could figure this out, they would have an unlimited source of nearly CO2-free energy. (Corn-based ethanol is too expensive, since you have to grow the corn using fertilizers – often carbon based – and water.)

MIT was trying chemical solutions. This guy found a way to use electricity.

When “Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley pressed Wheeler to say how concerned he is about climate change “on a scale of 1 to 10,” to which Wheeler responded “8 or 9.”

Just because Wheeler didn’t score Climate Change a 10 out of 10 on his concern level, an 8 or 9 score is a pretty darn high level of concern, is it not???
