This article covers many objections to Wheeler’s nomination, and too little of his supporters. But it does cover the pertinent issues in a fair manner; i.e. regulation rollbacks are described in terms of their perceived damage and benefit to the environment, and to US citizens. And, Wheeler’s replies to his opponents comments are provided, rather than leaving his opponents objections unchallenged. The confirmation of Wheeler is inevitable. So are comments by our resident “Climate Scientist” wannabe’s who seem outraged by every political action that contrasts with their (usually minority) opinion.

The “Climate Change” agenda has been so dishonest for so long, they have had many predictions that never came to fruition that is hard to trust them or their ulterior motive. Remember many of these scientist get federal funds, so it’s in their best interest to keep stringing along the government and taxpayers. Smart people can see through the smoke screen on who is being honest with them by track record and who is doing a number on them. I know some of you will give a thumbs down for this, but you do so in ignorance because you are just taking marching orders from those who want to control you.
Notice no reply or refuting from those who gave a thumbs down, also the thumbs down came one day later, so this was an organized effort, which is what they often, especially when the truth is not on their side.
No, there just is no sense in arguing with individuals who will never see the truth for what it is.
It doesn’t take a scientist to realize that something is clearly different than it was 30 years ago. 30 years ago, we were getting snowfalls of a half-foot to a foot in November on a regular basis every year. Now it seems that those same snowfalls aren’t coming until January. It was once every 5 years that there wasn’t a White Christmas, now it’s once every 5 years that it is. You can argue on the cause (as there are likely multiple causes), but to insist that it’s not happening is just pure ignorance. And to argue that it’s not at least partially human-caused is willful ignorance. And until you see that and admit it to yourself, it’s not worth arguing with you about it. That is all I will say to you about it.
I’m old enough to remember how global cooling was a crises. When the earth didn’t cool then it was changed to global warming. Well the earth’s temperature has been very stable. Now it’s climate change in 30 years 50 years in the future so they can’t be called out in their lies. This is total confidence trick, the largest in human history for the purpose is to get power and gain. These people must be defeated. They want nothing more than to control you and steal your money.
Lou, one of the best comments I have seen in a long time and accurate as well. The citizens of France may just kick out Macaroni for his extremist Global Climate Change taxes and regulations which are already being reversed.
Uh Oh, the inquisitors of the New Spanish Inquisition (i.e. people who feel that every, absolutely every decision should only be made if it helps the planet) really won’t like Wheeler!
If the issue and concerns over climate change were coming from a single government source or even country, I could except the “do nothing” premise. But the concern over climate change is coming from many sources and the concern is rising and rightfully so. As humans, we have only one place to live … planet earth, and the physical evidence shows that things are a changing. I ice-caps are melting at an increasing rate, seas are rising, there are large land areas were crops will no longer grow, we are polluting the oceans and land, and the incidences of “Cancer” are growing and only seems to affect the human race. At some point in the future, we will reach a tipping point and there will be no way to fix the problems we face with climate change, and the human race will just go extinct. It has happened before and it will happen again. Today, there is no physical evidence of any other life in the universe, and with all of the science and technology that we have in use today, we have yet to identify any other planet on which humans can live and we have yet to be able to detect any other life forms in the universe. Planet earth is the only place on which the human race has evolved and can live. If we do not take care of what we have, or have been given, the human race will just go way. There is a reason why we are alone in the Universe, and it our choice to survive, continue to evolve and take care of our only future …
Man, that sounds real scary. What’s your solution?
So far, China and India and all the other rapidly developing countries aren’t listening to you or the Doom and Gloomers, and their CO2 production is exploding.
Meanwhile, US emissions have gone DOWN due to a shift from coal to natural gas (yay fracking and free enterprise!).
Many climate scientists believe that without nuclear power on a massive scale, there is no way to stop the damage to come. And if you are honest, you know who is against nuclear power: the religious Climate Zealots. (50% of French power comes from nuclear, allowing them to preen about their purity.)
So, let me know what solutions you have besides higher taxes and energy prices on poor people.
One expression I feel Mankind must take to heart in order to not go extinct is:
We DO NOT own the Earth. We are BORROWING it from our Grandchildren.
Destroying your home is not the answer no matter which way you slice it. We literally are destroying our home in the name of imaginary money! You can’t take it with you when you die. All of the life on Earth is connected. From the ‘invisible’ bacteria… all the way to the Humans on top. We need ALL of the creatures on earth to survive. It’s a delicate balance and right now the cancer on earth (humans) is just slowly killing it’s own entire species trying to only better mankind. Sadder yet, is that they’ll step on any creature to accomplish this goal.
No problem. Bozos and Musky are gonna built a hyuuuuuge rocket ship to take their families to Mars or Neptune or Uranus. Earth is sooo ’21st Century’ and un-cool (sic)!
Regardless of the impact in climate, do people really think putting chemicals, poisons and toxins into our ground, water and air is worth a extra dollars in profit? We should keep researching and implementing less damaging methods to produce energy and products, even if it is more expensive in the short term. Some things are priceless.
I don’t recall my dad (my only hero) ever running for any public office. If you are referring to President Obama, I disagree with his assertion. See, it’s OK to disagree with someone for whom you voted when he/she is wrong.
Either way, that does not answer my question. Are profits so important that it’s worth poisoning the Earth?
So if you disagreed with him on this huge issue, why did you compound your mistake by doing it a second time? It is not like he had any other policy that made the country better. Certainly did not generate a healthy economy with his overbearing taxes and regulation. How could you be so uneducated about the Socialist agenda?
you are the one who once told Captain Planet that he had a great senator from Iowa (Steve King). Still want to own that one? Your credibility is pretty much shot at this point.

Rob, I think his credibility was shot many times. Like when he stated Singapore’s health system was/is an example to follow. From a Floridian’s viewpoint I’ll tell you one thing Obama did that was fantastic – he eliminated the wet foot / dry foot policy for Cubans. When’s the last time you saw a news story about Cuban’s losing they life in a small raft or boat. This proves that we can make changes to immigration policy that work. Trump wasn’t off base when he stated our immigration policies make no sense.

If Obama had a son, ….. he’d be like Ron.
Profits are NOT the reason most people act as they do. Human motives are power, hunger, thirst, sex, revenge, love, hate, …. greed comes in long way down the list.
Please stop assuming people are acting based on profits alone or primarily.
How do those thing motivate corporations to pollute the environment?
The main reason behind deregulation is to reduce expenses for businesses.

The reasons businesses exist is solely for profit-making. If they don’t make a profit, they aren’t in business. So, yes, it is a primary objective. If they could make more profit being more green-conscious, they would do so. It is that simple.

swede700,
I agree with you regarding the reason to be in business, but at what cost to the environment? If they need to pollute in order to make a profit, should they even be in business?
Maybe it’s not that simple.

Did you see the 60 Minutes piece on the untrained scientist who may have found a solution to global warming all by himself, after spending 15 years on his own studying it, and has now generated $100 million in funding and the praise of MIT Climate Scientists?
Google it. And then tell me why my tax dollars should go to professional Climate Scientists who can’t seem to find any solutions while demanding more and more funding for something I am told is “Settled Science”.
Google it and watch in amazement. It was on a couple of weeks ago. The guy found the Holy Grail for climate science, a way to extract the sugars from plants, meaning all the plants that grow and die all over the planet.
The challenge had been that the sugars in nearly all plants are “locked” in the plant cells in a way that made it impossible to extract in a cost-effective way. Scientists know that if they could figure this out, they would have an unlimited source of nearly CO2-free energy. (Corn-based ethanol is too expensive, since you have to grow the corn using fertilizers – often carbon based – and water.)
MIT was trying chemical solutions. This guy found a way to use electricity.
If you want to see how lost and dishonest the Left has become, look no further.

Rosie: I can almost assuredly say that Craig is NOT referring to the 101 yo because the story is EASILY found in an online search. I prefer POLARESEARCH.com to Google.
While I agree Climate Change isn’t ***the greatest crisis*** facing our nation, this article and all the posters supporting him seemed to have stopped listening after that statement.
When “Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley pressed Wheeler to say how concerned he is about climate change “on a scale of 1 to 10,” to which Wheeler responded “8 or 9.”
Just because Wheeler didn’t score Climate Change a 10 out of 10 on his concern level, an 8 or 9 score is a pretty darn high level of concern, is it not???
I am talking about INSURANCE JOURNAL. They could have presented it as a positive, that the EPA head thought it was serious, but NOT the most serious problem (which is exactly what you said, isn’t it, hater?).
The story is out that our air is 24% better than it was some years ago. If you believe in Ocasio-Cortez, we won’t be here 12 years from now. Pretty sure Rosenblatt will believe that hoax.
Spoken like a true lobbyist/politician; and while we’re at it, “Cigarettes don’t cause cancer, nor are they addictive” and “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” – what a joke!
I just had FEMA change a clients base flood elevation on the FIRM (look it up non flood writers) from 14 to 9 feet. That’s a FIVE FOOT DECREASE ON THE COAST OF SOUTH CAROLINA. FEMA does not even believe in rising sea levels.
