    Because fiber cement does not provide as much fire resistance as clay brick does, it would make sense to at least mention brick as a viable and superior cladding option for wildfire protection. This is not new news. For well over a century, dozens of communities have rebuilt with brick after catastrophic fires. This still holds true today. Brick attains a one hour fire rating by itself whereas fiber cement needs other elements in the wall system to get the rating.

    I believe the part of the roof they are referring to that overhangs is the Soffit not Socket.
