I could make a good argument that those already on the road should get additional training with the current car technology. I know most people take driving for granted and don’t realize that they should be thinking about what they are doing now, without the added distractions of new features. Cars are more streamlined and are designed to operate at faster speeds than they were in the 1950s through the 1970s, yet drivers’ skills have not kept up. Drivers expectations have changed without a concomitant change in standards which leads to crashes that should be easily avoided. it gets worse every year as new drivers hit the road, operating entertainment centers instead of motor vehicles.

Good point! And, as the statistical data shows, people are dying on the roads at a far greater number than in airplanes!

Bond, I think the statistics would show that fewer people fly than drive by a very large margin.

Did you know that Marijuana use causes a loss of 8 points of IQ and Cognitive Dissonance disorder would prevent them from trying an autonomous car? Learning is not retained so they would be some of the first to wreck their vehicle, would be caught asleep behind the wheel while it is zooming down the freeway etc.

did you know that if you read and re-read the article as much as 50 times, you STILL won’t find marijuana mentioned in it?

Stick to the topic. it’s not that difficult.

With all the problems we have in society brought on by Marijuana use and the people driving under the influence and losing their ability to retain information, what leads you to believe these people can be trained to use this technology. Same people that text and drive all the time.
