AXA XL, the property/casualty and specialty risk division of AXA, has named Robert Klepper as chief underwriting officer for Short Tail Insurance Lines.
In his new role, Klepper will be responsible for developing underwriting and product profitability strategies for short tail insurance lines globally, including property, construction and energy. He will work with AXA XL’s business line leaders around the globe and report to Jason Harris, chief executive, Global Property & Casualty Insurance.
Klepper joins AXA XL from American International Group, where since 2012 he has served as president of Client Risk Solutions. A 30-year insurance industry veteran, Klepper’s career has placed him in senior global management positions in the U.S., Bermuda, UK and Asia-Pacific including serving as president and chief underwriting officer at Torus Insurance and his tenure with XL, where he spent more than a decade, serving as global product line manager for XL’s Property, Energy, Construction Fine Art and Specie insurance lines and Risk Engineering.
