Bermuda-based specialty insurer and reinsurer Hamilton Insurance Group announced that Steve Wilson has been appointed senior vice president, head of Casualty & Specialty, for its new U.S. reinsurance platform.
Wilson comes to Hamilton from Third Point Re, where he was senior vice president for Underwriting. Based in New York, Wilson will help launch the buildout of Hamilton’s global reinsurance footprint in the U.S.
Prior to his role at Third Point Re, Wilson spent more than 11 years at Munich Re America, including as head of Financial and Professional Lines where he managed the Professional Liability and Credit/Surety/Political Risk underwriting teams. Before that, he served in other senior underwriting and actuarial roles at Munich Re America. Prior to Munich Re America, Wilson was an associate at KPMG where he focused on reinsurance.
