Global specialty insurer Hiscox has appointed Doug Karpp as head of Executive Risks and Cyber in the U.S, which includes Crime and Fidelity, Financial Services and Management Liability insurance products.
Karpp, who previously served as senior vice president and the U.S. Crime & Fidelity product head for the firm, will be responsible for developing business strategies within the product suite, leading a team of product managers.
Karpp joined Hiscox in 2010 as vice president and was responsible for developing crime insurance products. He was promoted to national underwriting leader for the line in 2013 and named senior vice president and Crime and Fidelity product head in 2015. He is also a member of the special investigations unit, which focuses on fraud prevention and investigates instances of suspected fraud, and the Hiscox USA Training Board. Before joining Hiscox, Karpp worked for AIG for 15 years in crime and fidelity.
Karpp is based in Los Angeles and will report to Megan McConnell, chief underwriting officer for Hiscox USA.
