Insurance broker HUB International recently named Jay Virdi as its chief sales officer for its cannabis insurance and risk services in the U.S. and Canada.
As chief sales officer, Virdi will focus on further developing expertise and resources across the U.S. and Canada for the cannabis industry.
Virdi has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joins HUB from Burns & Wilcox Canada where he was named senior manager for specialty risks underwriting in January of this year and was previously a senior business development specialist. He helped develop a cannabis practice group for Burns & Wilcox Canada.
Prior to Burns & Wilcox, Virdi worked in sales and customer service for Aon Inpoint in Toronto from 2014 until joining Burns & Wilcox in 2018. Earlier in his insurance career, he worked at Aviva and The Co-operators.
