    Like or Dislike:
    Thumb up 1
    Thumb down 0

    1. She is an at-will employee. Can be fired for any reason or no reason at all at any time.
    2. She backed Marty Lippert, a losing CEO candidate. He was out pretty quickly after the new CEO was announced. What did she expect? That’s how things work at the high levels. (Side note – why does the company and shareholders pay for other employees to help some employees angle for a promotion?)
    3. If she is worth $500,000 more, then I’m sure some other company will snap her right up. She studied economics for undergrad and has an MBA from U of PA Wharton School of Business – she should know how free markets work.
    4. She shouldn’t have been called a “bitch” or “the little one”, but that’s pretty minor.
    5. Was she “mean”?
    6. It makes sense to do, and seems right to do, but is there any LAW that says you must pay people equal amounts for equal work? If so, who judges what is “equal” work? And, are we talking equality of responsibilities or equality of results?
    7. I think the company has to fight this all the way. If they settle, it will signal that you can bring such cases. That said, I’m sure the former CEO and former head of HR are not amused at being dragged out of retirement for this. They might argue for settling to make it go away UNLESS this hit a personal nerve. For example, her candidate paper apparently said the company wasn’t managing capital well. I would think that would irritate the CEO who was running the show at the time.
