Trupanion
Trupanion Inc. (TRUP) reported fourth-quarter net income of $636,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. The Seattle-based company said it had profit of 2 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was breakeven on a per-share basis.
The provider of medical insurance covering cats and dogs posted revenue of $105.5 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $104.9 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $1.8 million, or 5 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $383.9 million.
Trupanion shares have fallen 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $36.27, a climb of 27% in the last 12 months.
United Fire
United Fire Group Inc. (UFCS) reported a loss of $23.2 million in its fourth quarter. On a per-share basis, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company said it had a loss of 93 cents. Losses, adjusted for investment gains, were $1.04 per share.
The property/casualty insurance company posted revenue of $293.4 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $289.7 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $14.8 million, or 58 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.15 billion.
United Fire shares have risen almost 3% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 17% in the last 12 months.
FNF Group
Fidelity National Financial Inc. (FNF) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $340 million.
The Jacksonville, Florida-based company said it had net income of $1.22 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 95 cents per share.
The provider of title insurance and mortgage services posted revenue of $2.36 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.06 billion, or $3.83 per share. Revenue was reported as $7.93 billion.
FNF Group shares have decreased slightly since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $45.20, an increase of 24% in the last 12 months.
