It’s hard when rates are increasing, overhead is increasing, and customer satisfaction is decreasing to feel great about working in the industry. Throw in commission decreases and less carrier appetite and people aren’t thrilled. Just wait until the next soft market hits. Things will change again.
This is surprising as most retail agents in the industry do very little work and are nothing than used car salesmen that can only sell on price rather than service, programs, or experience. Hardly any retail agencies know what they’re doing anymore. They don’t understand their customer’s business, exposures, nor do they understand coverage forms. It’s pathetic.
