Axon Underwriting Forms Product Recall Crisis Management Division

Axon Underwriting Services LLC, a specialty lines program administrator, has formed Axon Crisis Management to offer its product recall and foodborne illness and contamination products for U.S. domiciled clients.

Axon’s Crisis Management Division is led by Alex Pittignano, senior vice president, and Marcos Garcia Norris, senior vice president, with a combined underwriting experience of over 45 years.

Pittignano has spent much of his insurance career underwriting and leading crisis management divisions including American International Underwriters, Starr Companies and Allianz Global & Corporate Solutions.

Norris has held senior underwriting authority and leadership roles within crisis management divisions at AIG, CV Starr, Novae Syndicate and Allianz Global & Corporate Specialty.

Doug Gahagan, partner at Axon Underwriting, said the two will drive the company’s continued expansion into new specialty insurance markets.

Axon’s Crisis Management Division complements its suite of specialized insurance products, expanding in-house underwriting capabilities to offer Contaminated Product Recall, Consumer Goods Product Recall, and Restaurant Foodborne Illness & Contamination insurance. The three programs will be underwritten in partnership with the E&S/Specialty companies of Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company, and will offer a capacity of USD $10 million.
