I await a similar, environmentally conscious article from a liberal author on the outrageous volume of pollution by China which allowed for more than a decade under the agreement made by Obama years ago. But, I won’t hold my breath.

Always want to stir the pot. There is no good reason for this comment other than to do that. Shame on you.

While that’s not specific to pollution released by China, it CLEARLY covers the limitations of conducting such an analysis

If you don’t like reading about the mess Obama made while in office, don’t read my occasional post that lists them.

      SOMEONE DIDN’T READ THE ARTICLE.

“The global impact is harder to measure. The governments of Russia, Saudi Arabia, and China – which round out the top five world oil-and-gas producers – did not respond to Reuters’ requests for comment on their abandoned wells and have not published reports on the wells’ methane leakage. Researchers say it’s impossible to accurately estimate global emissions from leaky abandoned wells without better data.”

Also – this was primarily compiled by the EPA. Last I checked, they only have jurisdiction in the USA.

    Hint: leaky ABANDONED wells.

I read the story about ABANDONED sites, but commented on the related issue of POLLUTION that I discussed.

OTOH, you read my post and TROLLED, again.

While the article wasn’t specific to pollution released by China, it CLEARLY covers the limitations of conducting such an analysis. Also, does the EPA have any jurisdiction in China?

    BSUND says,,
We alll are taught at an early age that prevention is worth a pound of cure . this analytical report is based on the new global warming religion that must stop all creative income production in the USA republic by creating a panic on old ancient cement and piping technology and abandoned wells. The report tentatively admits that many productive wells are shut in because of oll pricing and lifting cost .It does not mention the over bearing Government micro managing of the delivery systems needed to market the production overseas. Many cost are mentioned on the reworking of the modern closings of 100 yeas ago.. Common sense would indicate that old logs and well histories must be reviewd that show what reasons the wells were originally driled ,and abandoned. Old technology could not driil deeper to layered zonings? Todays cleanup hopper rigs are much better than 100 yearsago and can go deeper and safer too. Pulling old pipe and cement cost could include a new productive well again ? It cost the same to look and close at a loss? Is that the most one can expects out of talent skills and todays technology is abandonment history rejection ?

The true story about the Beverly Hills High school property wells abandonment would make a movie.

UND BS says Stopping O&G personal prosperity based on old wells is a false premise to start any argument. Look at the 1920 oil Rigs mapping from Playa Del Rey to downtown LA, Baldwin hills and it shows a forest of old tower rigs every 50 feet or so. When the County developed MDR all of those abandoned wells had to be reworked from the 1920’s cement and pipe totally damaged by the sea water,, Were they mentioned in the report? The reported MDR blow out indicates only one well was missed? Those secured abandoned county development records need to also be reviewed by experts now? Multi million dollar condos sit on those Sites. This study agenda smells of excess methane.
