    Why is targeted advertising bad? I am a male biking enthusiasts. I would prefer to see add
    for bike equipment I might want to buy. I really don’t need to see ads for feminine hygiene products. Help me understand how I am being harmed by this.

    PS: I’m not talking about political ads which frequently lie and misinform. Those could be harmful, but no one really expects Congress to put a stop to those.

      Apparently, you either didn’t read the whole article or ignored the second paragraph.

      2nd par;
      The bill, titled “Behavioral Advertising Decisions Are Downgrading Services (Bad Ads) Act,” aims to crack down on invasive data gathering by large technology companies such as Facebook and Alphabet’s Google that target users based on their behavioral insights.

      Hint: ‘Bad Ads’ was a poor…. uh, BAD choice of the bill’s name by the Senator. Better: ‘invasive data gathering’.

      Preemptive reply to trolls: it is commonly accepted that FakeBook and Goo-gul are highly politically biased.

        Oh you’re back off of using Mr. Integrity since we all knew it was you? Good for you! You can’t escape your lies even by switching names.

        Tell us, Polar, who ISN’T Politically biased in your eyes? Where do you get your news from that really tells it like it is?

        Let me guess, powerline? One america news? Alex Jones? Don’t kid us in pretending you care about political bias, all you actually care about is getting people to agree with YOUR political bias. The problem as always, you’re laughably wrong LOL
