Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Co., a business of Marsh & McLennan Cos., has appointed three new members to its Executive Committee. The new members are:
Neil Mayer has been appointed chief operating officer for Guy Carpenter. In this role, he provides oversight of the central operations, client support services, marketing and communications and data strategy teams and leads the firm’s Operating Committee.

Previously, Mayer held the position of chief operating officer, North America. Prior to the North American leadership role, he was the global head of Strategy & Transformation, where he worked with the Executive Committee. Previously Mayer was a senior member of the Marsh & McLennan M&A / Corporate Development team.
Lara Mowery has been appointed to the newly created position of global head of Distribution, overseeing Guy Carpenter’s placement and distribution strategy. She will set standards for client/broker/reinsurer interactions, and see through all Guy Carpenter systems and tools that drive interaction with the markets.

Most recently, Mowery served as the head of the company’s Global Property Center of Excellence, where she led thought leadership and tactical execution of its property initiatives across the globe.

John Crichton, the chief information officer of Guy Carpenter, also joins the firm’s Executive Committee. He is responsible for enhancing the technology function.
Crichton has also been responsible for the development of a target architecture and application roadmaps to for client and colleague experiences, analytics and advisory and distribution.
