I live in the DFW area, Dallas County. When called for jury duty, the central jury room usually has close to 1000 people on a Monday. I would be very uncomfortable if called for jury duty and I had to go sit in that room elbow to elbow with 1000 others. The courthouse is also packed with crowds. This flies in the face of everything they are telling us about social distancing. I can understand the concerns.

Volunteer? Is that what they are calling it now when you are commanded to appear or face jail time and/or a fine?

You are right. It’s not the same as volunteering. Thanks for pointing out the error.

As a US citizen, you are obligated to fulfill your duty as a juror. No excuses. As a nation, we cannot have a breakdown in our fundamental systems and rights because of the hysteria and fear perpetuated by politicians.

If you are summoned and do not appear, I presume there are consequences.

Ridiculous take in so many ways. How about everybody thinks it’s all a hoax goes to the front of the line if it’s no big deal?
