CFC Expands Terrorism Offering to Include Active Assailant Coverage

December 9, 2020

CFC, a specialist insurance provider specializing in emerging risks, has expanded its suite of terrorism and sabotage insurance products to include standalone active assailant cover.

The active assailant policy covers businesses in the event of any premeditated physical attack that has the intention of killing or causing bodily harm, and isn’t restricted to political, religious or ideological events. It also doesn’t restrict what can be considered a “weapon” for use in an assailant attack.

CFC’s policy is specifically designed to provide cover for victims, customers and employees. This includes victim and organization support costs such as compensation for those injured and medical or psychiatric treatment, and crisis management costs.

CFC’s terrorism underwriting team has tripled in size over the past decade and with a $200 million line, now writes this class in over 20 countries worldwide providing small and mid-size organizations a flexible and comprehensive alternative to government-backed cover.

CFC has been providing insurance for terrorism and sabotage events to the North American market over a decade and was one of the first to provide a standalone terrorism policy in the US.

CFC offers a range of commercial insurance products built for today’s risks. It is headquartered in London and serves more than 100,000 businesses in over 80 countries.
