I personally saw traffic deaths labeled COVID.

On the GSP in NJ, there are small green signs that ask people to report dangerous driving to #GSP.

I’ve been driving on other roads and agree that IDIOTS are blatantly ignoring speed limits and are otherwise engaged in reckless behavior. Per interweb, I’m supposed to call the CT Staties to alert them of their share of the IDIOTS, but where are the road cops in all this? Staying away from Covid contamination? Have they ceded the roads to the IDIOTS?

Craig: if seatbelts and airbags really work, how come people are still dying in car crashes?

It’s not rocket science . . . they either do not wear seatbelts or are travelling at a rate of speed where the airbag is ineffective or fatally injures them. Airbag deployment is a pretty violent event.

Or maybe it’s because seatbelts and airbags only REDUCE the risk of death from a crash and they aren’t meant to ELIMINATE 100% of the risk of death from a car crash?

in all honesty, I’ve probably put less than 1,000 miles on my car since March. I’m sure my driving has suffered.

I’m still grateful for not having a commute, though.

The reality of driving and the ensuring traffic accidents and deaths on America’s roads starts with your state/local motor vehicles and the pathetic written and practical tests that give every person the license to operate a vehicle.

It’s a joke to get a driver’s license — slightly more difficult than getting your grocery store loyalty card — and the lack of respect for driving rules/laws and enforcement enable dangerous behavior — back to how little value is placed on the license and privilege.

If I had $1 for every instance I saw of poor and dangerous driving on a daily basis, I would rival Bezos for highest net worth. That being said, don’t get me started!
