Craig: If canaries in coal mines work, how come people are still dying? If seatbelts and airbags work, how come people are still dying in car crashes? Do you now see how silly your “if masks work, how come people still get C19” argument really is yet?

Do you see how you can measure the exact number of deaths in coal mines?

Can you finally see that there is no measurement for the effectiveness of masks? That it is all supposition and assumption? That “effectiveness” may mean 1% lower case rates. Or 10%. Or who the hell knows?

Can you see that States that had the toughest mask enforcement and lock downs often had the highest case and death rates? (I’m looking at you New York and California.)

Can you for once in your life acknowledge that there is no “settled science” here? That no one knows how effective masks are or aren’t in terms of case rates or deaths?

No. You will make a simpleton argument: Masks GOOD!! (Even though no one says to wear them in the home.)

Do I wear a mask in a store? Of course, but mostly to avoid the Moral Scolding from the masses who aren’t going to be sophisticated enough to realize that if you keep 10 feet away from everyone else, you don’t need a mask.

Agreed. These are the reasons that operating room doctors and nurses need to stop using masks: the science of masks hindering the spread of airborne germs and virus’ is far from settled. The Mask Industrial Complex needs to be exposed.

Thank you for your sarcasm, JD. I’ve posted at least 6 links to Craig that studied the effectiveness of mask use (even cloth masks make a difference) and his reply was that these studies by scientists are meaningless because they were done in a lab. WHAT?!?

He also claimed masks don’t work because the virus still spreads when people wear masks (although he admits most people don’t wear them properly) so it’s even been a challenge trying to enlighten him that masks simply reduce the risk and isn’t meant to eliminate the risk entirely (something I thought an insurance guy could understand).

He’s just going to keep posting dangerous disinformation and I seriously hope people don’t listen to him because we’re never getting out of this if folks don’t realize masks help, we still need to social distance, and the mRNA vaccines are safe.

At least we’re no longer hearing “C19 is like the seasonal flu and it’s no big deal.” Only took about 400,000 US deaths, but it’s progress that he’s not still spreading that piece of disinformation anymore!

So, in other words, between 2019 and 2020, production was down 36% yet deaths doubled.

That doesn’t sound like noteworthy reductions in fatalities…

Deaths doubled? Can you explain to me without insults what I’m missing?

      2020 coal mining deaths: 5
      2019 coal mining deaths: 12
      2018 coal mining deaths: 11
      2017 coal mining deaths: 5
      2016 coal mining deaths: 9

Deaths went from 11 to 12 to 5 … where is this doubling you speak of?
