Estée Lauder’s Burrell Joins GEICO as Chief Marketing Officer
Insurer GEICO announced Damon Burrell has joined the company as chief marketing officer. Burrell will oversee all of GEICO’s marketing efforts.
Burrell reports to CEO Todd Combs.
Most recently, Burrell served as CMO and senior vice president of Marketing, North America, at The Estée Lauder Companies. He was responsible for guiding the companies’ portfolio of brands and marketing campaigns and served as a key leader in the company’s digital transformation.
Prior to Estée Lauder, he held senior vice president of Marketing roles at Viacom leading the Nickelodeon and MTV brands.
GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is the second-largest auto insurer in the U.S. and a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies.
Zurich North America Names Olson Head of Programs
Denise Olson has been named head of Programs for Zurich North America. She succeeds Greg Massey, who is retiring.
Olson is responsible for the executive management of Zurich’s Programs business and fostering and maintaining strategic relationships with program administrators.
Olson will report to Alex Wells, head of U.S. Middle Market, and she will continue as a member of the Zurich North America Leadership Team.
Olson joined Zurich in 2003 and has held several leadership roles in underwriting, product development and actuarial. She most recently served as the technical director for Programs, working with the line of business and pricing and actuarial teams. She also continued her responsibilities for new program selection and the due diligence process.
Donegal Names Hudnall as Senior VP of Commercial Lines
The Donegal Insurance Group announced the hiring of Matthew Hudnall to lead the group’s Commercial Lines business.
In his new role as senior vice president of Commercial Lines, Hudnall will play a key role in developing and executing the strategy, overseeing underwriting well as operational effectiveness.
Hudnall most recently served as senior vice president of commercial and personal lines underwriting at Preferred Mutual. Prior to that, he spent eight years with The Hanover in various underwriting leadership roles in small commercial and casualty underwriting. Hudnall’s early career included underwriting positions with The Hartford and Travelers, leading specialization in industries including financial services and manufacturing.
Donegal Insurance Group consists of Donegal Mutual Insurance Co. and the insurance subsidiaries of Donegal Group Inc. that offer property/casualty insurance in certain Mid-Atlantic, Midwestern, New England, Southern and Southwestern states.
