Marsh, a business of Marsh McLennan, headquartered in New York, N.Y., named Janice Kowell marine, cargo and logistics practice leader, U.S. and Canada. Kowell will remain based in Portland, Ore.
Kowell succeeds Michael Pellegrini, who has been named regional head of Marsh Specialty, U.S. and Canada.
Kowell brings more than 40 years of marine insurance experience to the role. She joined Marsh’s Marine and Energy Practice in 1981, most recently serving as marine, cargo and logistics engagement leader, U.S. and Canada and western region leader, Canada. Before that, she served as west zone marine, cargo and logistics practice leader, U.S.
Messinger New Leader of WTW FI&PS
Broker WTW appointed Brad Messinger as the new leader of the financial institutions and professional services (FI&PS) industry division, effective Jan. 1.
Messinger will assume the role while continuing his current duties as the region leader for the Northeast. Messinger is a 15-year veteran of WTW.
Messinger has consistently delivered profitable revenue growth in the Northeast region and past profit and loss (P&L) leadership roles. He serves as the lead relationship manager for several prominent banks and insurance companies. Messinger’s background includes a role as a management consultant to various retail banks and prior to joining WTW, leading a professional services firm on Wall Street with a focus on investment banks.
Earlier this year, Carmela Inneo was appointed as head of strategy and execution, and Heather Kane assumed the role of broking leader for FI&PS.
