Former Scottsdale Insurance President Mike Miller will now serve as president and CEO of excess & surplus managing general agency Pivix Specialty Insurance Services.
Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Pivix is an E&S platform offering property/casualty coverages for targeted segments. Products will be distributed exclusively through wholesale brokers.
“Pivix is committed to the wholesale marketplace, underwriting excellence, and market-leading technology,” Miller said. “We have a wealth of experience to be able to deliver results for both the wholesale agent and the markets that we will represent.”

The company’s management team are all alumni Nationwide. Other than Miller—who also started specialty P/C company Ategrity Specialty Insurance Co. in 2018—Ken Levine, Joe Griffith, and Sandy Vertuno are involved in Pivix’s founding.
Levine is Pivix’s chief financial officer and chief actuary. He joined Nationwide’s executive team as chief actuary of Scottsdale and went on to serve as CFO of several Nationwide specialty P/C companies.
Griffith will be chief information officer. He spent 22 years in various technology roles at Nationwide and Ategrity.
Vertuno is now chief underwriting officer-contract binding at Pivix after more than 30 years at Nationwide, rising to senior director of contract binding before becoming chief underwriting
