
Canopius, headquartered in Chicago, appointed Laura Burke as U.S. head of cyber and technology. Burke assumes the role after serving as the company’s executive vice president, cyber and technology, since joining Canopius in 2020.
Burke brings more than a decade of experience to the role. Before joining Canopius, she served as senior vice president within CAC Specialty’s E&O and cyber practice. Before that, she served as practice leader and executive underwriter of cyber, technology, media and specialty PI at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. Burke served as cyber practice leader at Lockton before joining AGCS.
AXA XL Appoints Head of Energy Transition in the Americas
AXA XL, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, hired Katherine Gerber as head of energy transition in the Americas. She will report to AXA XL’s newly appointed Chief Underwriting Officer for construction & energy Jon Tellekamp.
Gerber will help clients navigate the complexities of energy transition and ensure they can achieve sustainability goals while managing potential risks effectively. She will direct energy underwriting strategies and the development of products and services to support AXA XL clients’ energy transition plans.
Before AXA XL, Gerber spent seven years at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she held key roles focused on strategy and underwriting operations.
